Useful info there Marcel.
The problem is going to be ECU, you need a carb one, the wiring loom is going to be completely different yes the indicators, lights etc are going to be pretty much the same but it’s all the rest of it that’s going to be a problem. I’m pretty sure the carb one doesn’t run an electric fuel pump & it won’t work because the ECU won’t fire it up because there’s no signal from all the sensors during load up. Personally I would try to fit the efi stuff to the engine which I would assume can be done (without a real life look I don’t know) Marcel will probably have a better understanding.
Sorry to forget to add when I chase coolant leaks (I rebuild a fair number of the good old water cooled 2 strokes for people) I use a UV dye added to the coolant & a UV light which then shows up cracks, leaks etc.
Looking at that oil I would say the colouration is due more to condensation due to short runs. To me it’s not taking coolant into the oil. The problem with coolant leaks is they can be tricky to find & being quite a small capacity of coolant doesn’t take long to disappear, it could be burning coolant but to be fair it stinks & is normally spotted really easily. You can get a gadget that has a liquid in it that you push into the radiator/coolant tank opening & it will show if exhaust gases are getting into it.
Hi there, good to start with a hands on approach, the hyos tbh are quite nice to work on.
Hi there.
Marcel will be the one who definitely know but I’m pretty sure it’s a completely different engine. Anything is possible to fit to just about anything else given time & money but unless you could pick up a complete bike for next to nothing I wouldn’t even bother.
Starter solenoid or low battery most likely cause
It might be one for you Marcel, he requires a clutch cover gasket and a air sensor for the st7
Hi there. Nice to see riders from all over the place.
Voltage is low but should light up, remove headlight & unplug the connectors & spray with contact cleaner replug everything & try again.
There’s no reason it won’t work, they are the same engine the efi stator is a higher output that’s the only thing I can think of. You have the carbs, manifolds, wiring etc should just fit right in.
It’s a tamper proof torx you can get the bits anywhere not hard to get.
Tbh they are value for money & looked after will provide you with good service, the finish is not japanese but then neither is the price. I have a gt250 which I’ve had longer then any other of my bikes some 30+ in 42 years of riding as I tend to get fed up and buy something else so that says something & now having just got a new Honda cb750 hornet I still love jumping on the old hyo.
The fact it’s both sides messing around says its probably the connector blocks behind the headlight unplug spray with contact cleaner, the starter switch could be the side stand switch playing up.
Sorry just seen it was a fuel pump
Sorry to hear that, they are known to be s**t, what parts were they?
Aug 17, 2023 at 8:01 PM in reply to: GV125s idle speed when hot / ISCV problem (Idle Speed Control) #11009If its fuel injected then you have almost certainly a bad connection on the feed back from a coil to the ecu, unplug every connection on the main loom & spray with contact cleaner 99%this will cure the issue, some of the connectors will be well hidden
As I always say given enough time & money anything is possible, in truth the problem of designing & manufacturing a manifold is the first problem then which carb jets etc only a Dyno will reveal. I think if hyosung could have got away with a single carb they would have as it saves money so to me that says not worth it.
Hi there enjoy the riding
