Looking nice, any problems just ask on here & I’m sure one of us will be able to help.
Looks normal to me, it’s not a tight fit
Jan 2, 2023 at 7:11 AM in reply to: I just got new bike I need to know what year it is where c #9313The gt250 came out around 2005 in 2010 fuel injection was added but there were still a lot of carb bikes unregistered around, but simply yours will be somewhere between 2005-2010.
Could be an air leak
Base nuts 15-20 nm, head bolts 21-25 nm.
It’s fuel, the problem is the new fuels tend to gum up the jets, try adding a fuel stabiliser like b3c ethanol shield works well when not run regularly.
Certainly clean every connector you can find, check if there are other connections near the front of the tank almost hidden by the air box on the left hand side looking from the back.
It seems very likely that it’s a carb / fueling issue, I doubt it will be worn parts it’s most likely sticking choke combined with debris in the carbs also a vacuum leak could cause similar problems, just check on thing at a time it’s a process of elimination.
Under the tank on the left hand side are 2 connector blocks I’m pretty certain you have a bad connection there, just need a clean them & it should be fine, I had the same issue tried everything then realised that one of those connectors is where the ecu gets the signal from the coil to set the idle control solinode to the right position not had the issue again.
As cobra says nothing wrong with the hiflo filters, I & all of my mates with bikes use them & have been for for years, not a single problem.
Ebc you can’t go wrong with.
You need the code, there are manuals available on this site that will tell you how to retrieve the code, that will then tell us why it’s doing it, I know they made a power commander for the earlier 650 not sure if it would fit yours though.
The most likely is the side stand switch & change the oil & filter as this will cause issues with 1st-neutral-2nd with old worn oil.
The fact it’s happening as it heats up says to me something is breaking down, now it could be any number of things the first being the coils, I however would check & clean as many connectors as you can find, the efi systems no matter how clever they make them out to be work primarily on resistance so a bad connection heating up cause more resistance then leading to wrong signal to the ecu.
Look up on YouTube it’s quite simple as they are diodes & should only allow one way travel
It will work but you need the splitter that fits on the lower yoke
Silly question can you hear the fuel pump priming when you switch the ignition on
I’m pretty sure they are still the same calipers, I don’t think hyosung would have changed them without a good reason, so it’s the fa86 pads you need ebc are very good.
Ytx14-bs or equivalent, I use yuasa bit more expensive but always seem good, my mate swears by motobatt but I’ve not tried them.
I would have thought 0.4-0.5mm would be about right.
