Jun 19, 2024 at 8:18 PM in reply to: GT250R Combination Display Wiring Pin Order (Carby LCD Speedo Diagram Pre-2009) #13802Can you post pictures of:
Your current display (The dashboard changed a few times over the years including EFI and pre-EFi (very late carb models) ,
The plugs from the display
the plugs from the main wiring harness
I will tell you what each wire color usually does.
Proud of you for restoring the GV650 , it’s a shame it was abandoned in that state , it would have been better it stayed in a garage but alas , even dry spaces can make rubber parts brittle and snap , like the drive belt! let alone sit for years , but i digress.
Okay, do you have access to a compression tester ? – Can you do a cold crank for 5 seconds to make sure both pistons have good compression in the first place ?
And yes you can post many pictures , and myself or someone will advise if your carbs look good and you have routed everything right in regards to vacuum and fuel.
Usually “silver port” = vacuum and “gold port” is fuel input. (and sometimes there is arrow ==> ==> showing direction of fuel flow so it doesn’t retrograde)
Jun 16, 2024 at 11:44 PM in reply to: Large chunks on oil drain plug and underneath oil strain cap. #13786I had not removed the clutch baskets or flywheel yet. I’m starting to think it was either 1st or 2nd gear because I remember it happening from downshifting. Afterwards getting into 1st gear was kind of difficult. Unfortunately I decided to junk it because getting parts in the United states for a hyosung is insanely hard, and there’s lots of more parts and issues that need to be rectified. I’ll be able to get some of my money back and move onto something else. I really did enjoy the time with my hyosung for the short time I did and I would keep it for the fact it’s very hard to find parts in the USA for it. I’m bummed but for $800 im not crushed.
Keep her, there is literally a 650 engine on fleebay USA , and just swap it over. Then you can keep the old motor for spares. Dare i say it, you will find more of a personality from a hyo than an SV650! lol – It sounds biased i know!

Have you removed the flywheel and the clutch baskets so you can use a torch or camera-scope (with torch) down any holes inside the engine to look for more places of where those broken pieces are found.
I think you might need a new crank or gearbox!
i am unsure of the Pistons , Rods , or cylinder valves until you look inside.
Hey , welcome . I just have to ask few questions to gather data from you.
- What ECU does it have ? Sentec? Daewoo? or Delphi (Post a picture of it , if you can)
- Have when you turn kill switch red button ON (killed) – Does the FI light come on or CHE error on the display?
And if you turn the kill switch OFF (bike is good to go) – Does the fuel pump prime (huming noise) ? - Is the Neutral light ON? KickStand switch is bypassed (the kickstand switch is that annoying it causes issues)
- CLutch Handle Bar Switch (Temporarily bypass it and see what happens) = I would NOT bypass it forever as I’ve myself experience false starts when the bike was still in gear and it fell , this was years ago anyway, even the Kawasaki i had was no better! So i prefer the bike knows i’ve squeezed the clutch in before starting and slowly letting go incase of fake neutrals.
Drain fuel from the tank => Look to see if the fuel pump strainer is clogged up ? (although you cleaned it before, check one more time)
Do you get bright blue sparks from each coil ?
Ever did a cold compression test on the engine and tell us the PSI markings ? (It could help to know this especially)
– Both plugs out. Injectors disconnected.
– Crank the bike for 5 seconds => Read each cylinder for compression readings and tell us.I do hope its something small (that we have both missed) but all i have said above , is usually common causes.
Jun 16, 2024 at 12:01 AM in reply to: GV 125 ignition coil wire connectors causing bike to run on one cylinder.? #13773do you think the wires in the connector could be loose.? Kind regards Connor
It does happen and contact cleaner works a treat
Oil Filter is called HiFlo 131 , don’t buy K&N 131 as its made in china. So i wouldn’t trust it on critical filtration of oil. Air filter some is made in china sure but oil filters i would rather use german ones or OEM .
At least the bike is running, so sounds like you’re doing a slow overhaul job!
Jun 15, 2024 at 11:19 PM in reply to: [How to Tutorial] Hyosung GV650 ST7 Front Drive Pulley Removal without Belt / Chain Conversion #13771Never seen the ropes being used that way lol, great write up!
Have you replaced the starter motor solenoid then ?
Also , try to do a continuity test on all wires to make sure nothing is shorted / broken circuit somewhere relating to the starting solenoid and the O wire as O wires tend to be live when the bike is ON.
If you see burn marks, post some pictures up 🙂
Jun 14, 2024 at 9:50 PM in reply to: Hi does anyone have a wiring diagram for the 250 gt gomoto please guys #13756Topic locked as we responded to a duplicate one below:

If its EFi, check the manuals section of this site. Otherwise , if you don’t see it, then also check ManualsLIB website for carb versions (i’ll upload more on this website when i can)
Question I also have a GV650 EFI. Do you reckon this K&N filter fits the GV650? https://www.knfilters.co.uk/su-6503-replacement-air-filter
The airbox of the GV650 is different from the GT650, and thus the SV650 won’t even fit either sadly
Very beautiful, i hope you keep the red colour!
How was the ride so far ?
Jun 14, 2024 at 9:45 PM in reply to: GV 125 ignition coil wire connectors causing bike to run on one cylinder.? #13752Basically the 1x coil is dodgy and needs replacing or did we miss something ?
The connectors for the coils (SPADE SHAPE) can be squeezed a tiny bit more (carefully) so it has a firm grip on the coil terminals.
Do you have a picture of the current shocks on the bike so we can see ?
Some shocks do actually get changed to custom ones by previous keepers to be fair so its hard to tell if its OEM or Generic aftermarket or some SHOWA US shocks.
Forks = The process is similar to the Suzukis with upside down forks on youtube, where it shows to also adjust the preload near the top of the forks.
Though i will say 10w vs 15w fork oil can affect how stiff or soft the forks behave , factory usually uses 5w oil but 5w can sometimes just leak and burst seals.
No oil filter ?
~That’s crazy! = Some people really are stupid and should never own a motorcycle wow!
I mean the oil filter is so common , a lot of Suzukis use it!Well done on the SS studs , very good investment , you can get “FORM A” M6 washers , they will “just about” fit inside the filter cover but washers are generally not needed in fairness.
Here in the UK, the Hyosung can restricted using restrictor kits for A2 riders.
Find a garage and tell them to use SV650 restriction kits on the Hyosung 650 carb model.
It is a little tricky to do this on EFi models but it is possible by restricting the throttle section by your local garage (sometimes the Korean factory does this for some EU markets)
One way to confirm if it is restricted is a DYNO run 🙂
Welcome to the club!
Sorry to hear this 🙁 , is there a way you can safely keep the bike indoors until you have secure storage setup ? and have dogs stand guard for you too. Just feed them steak!
I could try to find the parts you want , but send an email if you want (click contact at the bottom of this site)
I hope the rest of the bike is not too badly damaged so you can ride soon.
As per your email you sent us , the gasket is usually not included but can be ordered too. Just let us know when you’re ready
