WOW!!!!!! – I WANT IT!!!!
If i can’t get it here in UK, then i must settle for GV300S Bobber which we have here in UK soil lol.
I will try to copy the GV250DRA – I did not get information about it, so i get jealous for Asia countries to get new models before we even get any information for us EU and UK people
Japan is near Korea, so it is probably easier for KR Motors to make variants in the EAST. Last time they did GV250DR – Even that bike is difficult to acquire over here…
Keep the information coming , I am very interested.
I think Hyosung must be inspired by the later models of Harley Davidson SPORTSTER bikes
May 22, 2023 at 7:26 PM in reply to: Hyosung Owners Picture Gallery: Show Off Your Bike Photos & Mods 📸 #10353Welcome back JP! – The GV with sidecar looks very good and i don’t see a lot of that nowdays, keep the pictures coming. I am inspired lol.
You are very welcome 🙂
Post pictures of her in the journal section once its all ready fitted and looking good for a sunny ride 🙂
Hey ,
Welcome to the forums and how are you finding the experience with the bike ?Sunny week, so take it easy out there also!
Sounds like it is time to copy all i said in my replies and it will start to behave more as we fix 1 thing at a time in fairness, we do need to know how the engine is 1st before addressing any other parts.
To save repeats , check my previous reply and let us know how you get on this week.
I hope you got home safe 👍
Hey,
The kickstand should be bypassed by basically bridging the 2 wires that go to the harness from the switch itself. No resistor required.
Cyl Drops can also be a signs of these (common)
- Stator Unit Wanning (rising heat has made its “pulse sensor” misbehave / ghosting)
- TIP Over Sensor (under / near the fuel tank yellow metal plate (since yours is a 2011 EFi , it should be DAEWOO or MITSUBISHI ECU (Korea is random like that)) , but any bike after 2012 is DELPHi system
Not that it matters right now but i do know stators acting funny make the daewoo ecu’s really moody. - Coils (on the frame)
- HT Caps (use NGK ones like we do, you never have to suspect caps ever again)
I hope it’s just the rear ignition coil system and clutch handle bar lever (yes the handlebars have a clutch switch on the clutch lever side, if it acts funny, it cuts sparks off instantly even while riding, i’ve been through it lol) – I would NOT bypass this switch.
Just my 2$
Are you able to get access / ride to a garage (even a car one) and tell them this….
1. Allow motorcycle to be least 20 minutes hot , from ice cold.
2. Remove both spark plugs (just lift the tank for the rear nicely
3. Put a compression tester in the front cylinder plug hole.
4. Leave rear cylinder alone (make sure it has no spark plug in it (as per Korea’s instructions)=-=====
Press Start.
Hold bike on full throttle for 5 seconds.
See what the compression gauge says. Then repeat the rear engine cylinder.
Come back to this forum and let us know the psi of each cylinder as it is crucial we get the engine out the way first.
===== If plugs are out, run to halfords and fit only the normal “CR8E” and see if the bike behaves better ?
Don’t buy IX and don’t listen to the mechanics suggesting it. Hyosung GT125’s don’t like “IX” plugs (Blue Box) . So i’d suggest only CR8E (stock yellow box) or “LASER” type (ones you see at this shop)
Also read this topic below, it has a lot of insight for you. DEFINITELY MAKE SURE THE FLOAT HEIGHT is 7mm
Unsure? Just replace the floats with new ones and get carb rebuild kits (that contain new float seats and new needles) = That will make sure the float assembly is working properly (bad floats close early , bike starts to drop back speed rapidly and cuts off, because the jets don’t reach all the way to the bottom and carb is upside down too!) (Sometimes O-Rings on the “gold float seats” can brittle away, and actually leak droplets of fuel through even after the floats have shut off the valves so to speak, this called an internal leak, too much fuel incarbs will bog it down too)
Mixtures = 2.5 turns out (full circle) each pot and leave it alone forever (yes forever) , if the bike has other issues, still leave the mixtures alone forever 😉 ….way less stressful this way.
Let us know your progress, excuse any grammatical errors in my replies, if i haven’t made sense, just quote me to explain again in different way 🙂
Korea didn’t reveal the mixtures due to fact their GT bikes always leave their factories fine tune to suit the clearances they set their engines at aswell.
So a general rule of thumb is that lower than 2 = new piston rings / more than 4 = no effect , wastes fuel. That is full turns from closed.
I’d try and get a compression test done 1st to see how heathy the engine is , it would defo help a ton. Report back to us what each PSi the pistons are when the bike is warmed up for least 10mins from ice cold.
if we know how the engine is , then its easier to fix the rest. You will find that half the “troubleshooting” pages Korea puts at service manual for carby bikes they always say “Valves too tight, engine compression too low, head gasket issues” (these in effect also make the carb act poorly in return as it needs the engine to draw it)
Hint = A very happy hyosung idles 1,000 revs from ice cold , without any choke assistance (that means electronics all good, fueling system everywhere from carb to tank is all good, and engine is in spec by measuring it)
Sounds like ignition coils on their way out
BUT!!!
Sometimes the stator works and when the engine gets hot , the stator starts to wane , causing the pickup sensor to act haywire and as such if the ECU isn’t getting consistant signals from the pickup coil inside the stator, the ecu tells the bike to wind down or cut off. In somecase it is either the coil or stator that makes starting very difficult. If it is running, i would also caution to keep an eye on the ET sensor (Engine Temp Sensor)
(Test temperature related sensors as with the rules from the service manual to see if they are in spec , both hot and cold)Strange that its not throwing error codes , try to unplug ecu for 24hrs , and take battery off. Then retry , if problems happen , the ecu should store an error inside until you trick it next time for it to show up again.
Hope this helps but keep us updated!
Will keep an eye on this thread , you will never know , there is always a niche market for something!

You can still attach pictures on this site,
Just click “Add Media” on this white reply box below as you type 🙂
They are heavy but surely you can’t keep her ? The weight is nice to keep us all planted on the road.
Oooo, care to share some pictures of this1? 😀
May 1, 2023 at 9:50 PM in reply to: [How to Tutorial] AIS Removal Guide – Hyosung GV125 GV125C (EGR Blank Kit Fitting Guide) #10280I like the idea of “blanks” , will speak to a contact in supply chain to see if they can do a “blank kit” that supports both GV and the GT due to varying airbox sizes and will list them separate for shop if people need them
This is because i’ve leaned most people actually cut a short hose near the intake pipe and stick a bolt inside with a metal zip clamp tight. Job done! Cost = £0 and finding scrap bits in your shed lol.
May 1, 2023 at 9:47 PM in reply to: [How to Tutorial] AIS Removal Guide – Hyosung GV125 GV125C (EGR Blank Kit Fitting Guide) #10279Great , great write up!
Will push this to the Tech section as a sticky!
Get a GT650R front master cylinder (not 250 , not 650 naked , not 250 naked) , it must be 650R — Then get XRT Levers (Hyosung Approved) from MotoGB UK (ring em) or Startrights Leeds.
125 master cylinders do not fit custom levers, = why? The master cylinder only wants skinny levers that are exactly as how Hyosung made them. We all tried tbh, some people actually bought some and shaved / skimmed the lever to fit inside , what if he isn’t here ? & died as his lever finally warped. Wouldn’t mess with brakes tbh .
I wouldn’t use universal cylinders = They are 99% rubbish and are not better than Korea’s TCTC brake systems (hence older 650s use the same calipers but bigger master cylinders)
I could only dream of having that cagiva in my hands now lol. What a beauty (and so is your Hyosung ofcourse)
I noticed exhaust looks original, suggests its a very young 2015 plate or the last guy must have kept it inside the house than letting it rot! – This is good to see./
Glad the advise of changing the fuel cap has paid off too 🙂
Ride safe now!
(PS. share a pic of the bike if you want, in the Pictures & Journals Section of this forum & brag about it 😎)
We have success, replaced the fuel cap with a GV650 one and its running better than ever with no spluttering, bogging or cutting out around 400 pounds in attempts to repair when it was just a 20 pound fix
Hey, it can’t be all waste if the bike rides better with some new goodies that you won’t have to worry about!
I’ve once bought a bike needing a fuel tap, but i was like screw it, let me overhaul the entire fuel system including its injectors , the result was that i didn’t touch its parts for 2yrs as it just kept on going.
if i just fixed the tap, what if the injectors were next to go pop! – Sucks to have a skinny wallet but i am smiling more when it doesn’t break down on me 200 miles away from home. I could be clinically OCD about such things lol
Marcel, what is “wanning”?
the process of decreasing, declining, or coming to an end
The dictionary explained it better than i would lol.
And yes email sent , check your inbox now sir
Apr 21, 2023 at 6:59 PM in reply to: 2019 Hyosung gv125s – need help with that this part is called #10230Hey,
Is it possible to get a picture where you are little further away, and at a different angle just so i can think of another possible fix or not.
not all hope is lost
tbh , people have told me Sinnis aren’t acurate. -
