The Honda Rebel-carbs must stay horisontal….
Alas that’s the downside!
Hey Marcel My bikes been doing the same thing but when I hit the strat button I can hear my relay click
It would be handy if you could make a new topic of your own so you can write as much as you and we may have a different answer based on your bike situation.
Ie, Member 1 may have a jammed flywheel and another member will have a damaged starter motor , so 2 different replies are needed.
I will make a separate thread to keep you informed of my progress if you like? Thanks and God Bless!
Sounds great, we all love a progress journal , even some are just lurking around (guests) but we have hundreds & hundreds of people visiting the site everyday.
This one , will fit , super cheap because it is slightly frayed as you look at the close pics but use these as a temporary measure:~
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/256596740409
If not, it is possible i can acquire another EFi throttle cable locally here in UK and export it to you , but send me an email about it (“Contact” at the bottom of the site)
Generally i don’t mention other sources online because you will find maybe 5-10 Hyosung websites all using the same design, same background, they are clones with a lot of angry customers due to scammy behavior and members on this forum have also reported the same, so be wise when shopping around too.
To swap to the round headlights , yes you can , you have more chance here.
Fire up ebay, and get these (without skipping either, as they are all required)
- Nosecone Metal Cage for 2007-2010 models
- Fairings (Nose cone panels , older ones with brawny looks airvents onthe side)
- 2007-2009 headlight unit
- 2005-2009 fairing brackets (because the 2007 nose cone uses “S” shape yellow clips to mount the nose cone fairings to your ENGINE panels)
- Bottom Chin Panel (under the headlight, looks like a boomerang)
- Dash Surround Panel (needed!)
- Dash Mount (2005-2009)
- Screen ofcourse.
Now you just go have fun painting it all, i
This could workout being the quickest way to ago about things.
Oh yes , don’t forget (not critical but completes the look)
- Air Vent (left and right side)
- Infill Panel (mini triangle for the right side of the nose cone only , aka “inspection panel”)
Otherwise , 2016 “front end” is strictly for 2016 only – you can’t mix and match. You either want the older look (2005-2009) or the newer 2016 look
Send me an email (click “CONTACT” at the bottom of this website) , we will send you any part your carb requires or browse the HyoRiders Shop.
Also, the BDS26 is a GOOD carb and its still a japanese carb, you will need to rebuild it , as sometimes previous owners may have left the bike standing for too long (years) and no love was given to it. So it makes sense to rebuild it, even replacing the floats help.
Now, remove the fuel hose from your TANK , does fuel come out ? == Replace the tap. If engine turns off , the tank tap must turn off automatically, this is the 1st defence it stopping fuel overflowing your carb float needles.
If you connect the tank tap to the PUMP on the frame ==== Turn engine off , point the fuel pump in a bucket , does fuel come out ? = Replace the pump too! This is 2nd defence.
Also damaged taps / pumps will leak fuel 100% through their Vacuum lines too. (Their diaphragms have burst causing fuel to leak on both ends. etc)
For sales enquiries , it is best to do it privately via email , not on a public forum due to sensitive information being exchanged.
Here is the link (it’s always at the bottom of the site):
But yes, complete means “Postman is on the way to you”
Topic closed.
Just like me, I do like to plod along and enjoy the scenery as much as i can , when i passed my test i thought motorways were fun but now many years later, i always avoid them if possible, sure back roads take extra 20 mins of your time but less idiots on it and you’re not pressured to be in top speed all the time 🙂
Welcome and enjoy your ride every chance you get!
Jul 15, 2025 at 1:54 PM in reply to: How to tighten my clutch – YES, Seriously – Hyosung Aquila GV125S 2021 #20037Hey, don’t panic.
This one is for the older carb models but the principle is the same ….
How to adjust clutch cable – Hyosung GV125C GT125R GT250 GV250
Also , let us know if you think the cable is stretched out , then possibly may need a new cable or is there a chance the “washer” went missing ?
See belowIt says it is for older models , but ignore that, look at the “order of plates” and “bearing , washer” etc.
[Tutorial] Hyosung GV/GT 125 & 250 Clutch Plates Replacement How To
If not, you could need a new thrust bearing possibly? Or new plates if the old ones have thinned out?
Hey Heather, it’s good to have you here 🙂 . Seeing stories like these make my day and for the other contributors of the forum, as they themselves have had to help each other one out.
2 minds better than 1 one right ?
I’ve worked on these Hyosungs (&sttill do) and occassionally i do get a brain fart where i must remember that steering nut at 80nm torque may not apply across every Hyosung , when i worked on the rarer RT125D Off Road Hyosung, so steering got a bit too heavy, i had to dial it down a bit (despite the nut being the same size on its GT brother! Funny times
Oh yeah take it easy with electrics , i did get shocked when i forgot to unplug the battery many years ago working on a different bike and the harness was toasted! (&so was my bank balance!)
Let us know how it rides when you put it back together or shout back at the forum if you need help again.
That’s really great. I was going to stock up some few sensors from several cars but alas , they are not “plug & play” as such. So this gives me an idea to just make “home-made” connectors and sell them if people struggle , otherwise this topic helps.
Great pictures!
People have much more luck using
Oxford Strap Nav , Buffalo Nav Bag , or “Yoke GPS Bag” , but measure size of your phone for fitment or GPS Satnav.
If not, you will need to measure your yoke nut (thread and pitch), then see for any Amazon sellers who may have install kit for your bike.
I forgot what the size off the top of my head , and normally i just use Bluetooth Intercoms and phone is in the pocket , i just hear directions if im going far!
Did you click “Upload Tab” as soon as the “Add Media” window pops up.
Then it asks to upload directly to the site, instead of asking for a “sourcel URL”
let me know.

Also this one below is cheap, just remove the “risers” , and ditch the silver yoke away as it wont fit your bike, or sell it back locally if need be. Or use it to test something before installing on your GD

Jul 14, 2025 at 7:49 PM in reply to: Valve clearance, camshaft, camshaft tensioner – a problem or a serious fault? #20028Hello, since I decided to replace the timing chains right away and, while I was at it, the already dismantled cylinders, I stopped at the stage of removing the magneto… Do I need a special puller for it? I have a puller in my workshop, but it is too small to fit the magneto. Are there any other ways to remove it?
I checked the serial number of the tools from the service manual, but I don’t need them for that amount of money, as I will only use them once. (hopefully 😉 )Try M30 x 1.5 puller from Amazon, it pulls rotors of different 125 motocross bikes.
Is there anyone local in Ireland who is breaking a GD250 NAKED , so you can get its top yoke and risers ? It will be easier getting a naked version.
Sorry if the Add Media button was confusing, did it come up with an error or ? Or is it too clunky for phone use. I will take any feedback to design it myself (i am 100% going to renovate the site later in the year so its more simplistic to navigate around)
Regards
If you must use your current setup , remove the clip ons and be warned:
- You may need longer brake hose
- longer clutch cable & throttle cable possibly
- Find a local breaker and get “2005-2016” GV125/GV250 risers that fit 22mm bars (MUST be this specific year range)
- Drill 1 hole each side, you may run in to trouble , so do it very cautiously or pray we can find a spare yoke to test things. (GD or GDR)
GVs use one bolt risers per side and are much higher than chinesium ones. It is the top yoke we have to worry about giving us a small flat section to sit them on.
That’s great!
Do you have any pictures you can share ?
Can you show me a picture of your current GD250R ?
Hyosung either uses a Flat Yoke Top or a Diamond Shape Yoke (which can make things tricky!)
Click “Add Media” the green button above your text-white space as you reply. And upload it directly here.
Welcome to the forum & to the Hyosung world 🙂
Send me an email , I am officially doing it now as we just did a few private orders this week but i will be officially announcing it on the shop page with new customer pictures etc. A belt is too expensive for some people now and it is still specific to Hyosung
If i ever find a bike that uses same belt and pulleys like Hyosung for cheaper, then i would be stocking it up a long time ago. Hyosung still makes belts , just with a different outsourcing company because their newer Gv125 EU model uses belt drive & GV650PC 2025 uses belt.
So if you need a chain kit now, contact me below for a quote:

Wait… until it changes to KPH , then let go of the button
Did it work ?
Hey, So its just best to find a good used engine from what I gather. I know that the compression test has to be done at operating temperature, but since I have to buy one second hand and I cant test it at that temperature before because its off the bike. I can however do a cold compression test because the starter its still attached to the engine, how much compression does it need to have cold just to be shure that the engine its somewhat healthy? I know they loss compression with temperature but mine had almost the same results cold or hot. So i gather that if at least the compression is good cold, I have 80% chance of being the same or little less when hot?
Usually if it says 125 psi cold , it “could” jump to 150 psi hot (OK to use) or jump 10 extra psi max , depends on engine to engine , hence forth we usually get the final figures after the engine has run for 5-10 mins hot.
Compression tester used should be OK , but just make sure it has a straight metal pole than using flexi hose.
