Description
Oil weeping from your filter cover usually means the large outer O-ring has become brittle and cracked. The small inner O-ring (which is often forgotten!) is vital for ensuring oil is filtered correctly and maintaining pressure to the engine. Whether you’re doing a quick oil change or a full service, replacing these two high-quality rubber seals is cheap, easy insurance to avoid long-term engine problems.

🔧 Install Tips
- Lubricate Before Fitting: Always coat both rubber rings with a light film of fresh engine oil before sliding them into their slots. This stops the rubber from pinching, twisting, or tearing when you push the cap back on.
- Clean the Seat: Wipe down the internal cap grooves and engine block casing lines with a lint-free rag to clear away old grit or hard crust that blocks a flush fit.
- Don’t Overtighten: Secure the cover bolts evenly until snug. Overtightening will crush the rubber shapes flat or strip out the soft metal casing threads.
