2018 is when the Fuel Injection models came out in europe , then UK in 2019 hence Korea made carb models until 2017
So all carb models are identical (2001-2017)
If there is a 2018 GV125 with carbs in UK, it just means it was registered late (2017 machine with 2018 plates etc)
Seems like I am out of luck, unless you know a tuner that can help. I’ve emailed a dozen shops and nobody seems to be able to help. Follow-up question. Will the exhaust heat shields (consisting of 5 pieces) from a 2016 GV650 Aquilla Pro fit my 2008 GV650 EFI Anniversary Edition? From the photos they look identical but I’m unable to find anything online to verify whether they are a direct bolt-on or not
As for exhaust pieces, there is some variations yes but do you have 2 pictures for us to see what you’re looking at and what you have currently ?
Hyosung GT650 shock fits bolt-in , and look at ebay USA (loads of 650 parts there)
You would rather use a 650 shock because its made stronger than the 125 ones and sits a “tiny bit” higher (meaning the bike lifts up its back end a little more)
Also , check your bearings under dog bones where shock links to , because sometimes it is the bearing at the bottom that rattles the shock!
If the battery was cooked 2x , i would be concerned that it is positive for a voltage overspike in that past that has possibly affected the circuitry of the CDI unit. Meaning you may need another CDI in the worst case.
Stator = New one would be a good idea (the pulse sensor) is what tells the CDI what to do and what to spark, it may be reading OK when its off but may act haywire once it warms up , hence the haywire behavior in the cyclinders. The sparking system starts from that flywheel pulse sensor (which means the replacement of the whole stator unit as a last resort too)
Mosfet is a good reg, keep it there.
If there is no “igniter” box , that runs through the coil-pack wires , then your harness may be a simpler version as some 650 carbies do have an extra box (or mystery object along the frame) that helps with the coil-packs. If not, yours may be all directly controlled by the CDI unit itself (subject to the stator pulser being in order)
Japan Unit = They rarely fail , so i would be surprised if it has failed. Have you checked eBay AU for a spare one that’s verified working?
Did you see any other black boxes ?
Remember what i said in the previous reply about checking rear coil wires leading up to the black box
It sounds silly, what if you bought all new sensor ? and see if the problem continues?
Also, check manualsLIB online for your 2012 model to get a service manual, there is a page that allows you to check if the connector near the ECU is breaking up signals ?
I know the 2012 is a DAEWOO with a very large single plug , the 2009-2012 really do have sensetive ECU connector plugs. It is perharps the ECU fault or the ECU itself is not able to reliable read the harness leading to the sensor.
You can test for example = Purple wire (example) from the O2 sensor connector and test the same color near the ECU plug , to see if the circuit is broken using a multi meter or if it is acting haywire if you move the harness around (incase of kinks)
Do you have a picture of the CDI unit ? (some 650’s have 1 or 2 black boxes) (If it has 2 black boxes , one is for the general bike and the other one is more for ignition control)
Also, trace the wires from the rear coil => match their wire colours to the black box it ends up
Download the service manual (I uploaded many in this forum) so find one that matches your bike, and use a pocket meter to test the CDI unit
Ask that company if they have something for your ECU the Jap one, send proof of it. If they ain’t sure, then its likely due to the bike being some anniversary edition.
2009-2010’s use the Daewoo ECU’s (problematic ecu’s!) =
Ask them if they do DELPHI which is current or yours
DELPHi = a lot of changes to your motor!
Punch a hole in the gas tank and light it.
😮
Measure the hole of the exhaust inside (the circle inside the exhaust exit port is 19cm for example)
Go on ebay or amazon to find 18.5cm OD baffle (0.5cm is less on the baffle so it slots in the 19cm hole)
Drill a hole thru the exhaust TIP under it and THROUGH to the baffle.
Then use bolt and nut to lock it
Swap the front and rear ignition packs (HT cap, coil) and use fresh CR8E plugs, tell us if the problem happens on the front and the rear engine sparks better ?
Then you know its the ignition packs
Check engine compression at the rear ?
Oct 31, 2024 at 11:36 PM in reply to: Inconsistent rpm at idle, stalling + jerky acceleration GT250 EFI 2010 #15407Okay,
I have to ask though, how is the engine compression ? Get the bike warmed up hot …. remove both spark plugs , check compression at full throttle and tell us the result.I might have a small suspicion that one of the cylinders may be a little lower than spec but we shall see after your report , because it seems like you changed everything to all new parts?
Also , why not change the fuel pump as new again incase the old one of 3 years is no longer performing well, you said it was okay in the early days but now the bike is misbehaving a little bit, so it could be the pump needs changing again , usually sometimes rough running or rough idle is the pump.
Try that too, and also check the TPS using service manual again to check its in spec, the idle can be affected , then reconnect the ISCV
Though if you said “i removed the pipes from ISCV” and the engine idled normally, = normally on any motorcycle more in the engine to make it idle usually means the air filter is stuffed (intake system chocking) or the ignition parts are producing weaker spark causing a rich condition that includes quickly fouled up plugs
GV250 isnt compatible.
GV650 Non-classic DELPHI should work OK, but i believe the reason for 2 different part numbers is likely due slight changes to both bikes but the principle really is that both engines are 650 and they both use Delphi Sensors. It should work, otherwise expect one or 2 sensors being changed out to satisfy the non-classic 650 GV ECUIt should be fine! – as long as it says DELPHI (Aliexpress versions are not usually OEM & don’t say DELPHI in big letters on the black plastic body) and it also says “GV650” on the white sticker.
Is your ECU a Delphi brand or Mitsubishi Japan or Daewoo etc (between 2008 – 2014 Hyosung used various ECU’s with various matching harnesses and sensors for them, until by 2015 came around, they made sure all future models use Delphi ECU)
Hey , ofcourse we ship worldwide, just click “CONTACT US” at the bottom of this site and send us your parts list & your address so the cheapest shipping quote can be found for you.
It’s because for shipping abroad, there is many carriers to choose from with their own prices. UK is always free as it is domestic to us that’s all.
When the engine is hot , can you do a compression test to confirm what it says on each cylinder with both plugs out and full throttle
Ill have better advise after compression results.
HyosungFactory is a scam site of the defunct clone of HyosungSparesUK (which was also a scam site, so bad that it only got hundreds of 1 star ratings on TrustPilot) – So their links were removed as they don’t deserve anyone’s custom. “wholesale” tried to email us for business, they were declined , if the site is blue & white , it’s usually the same clone including .au , .nz , etc
UK distributor that’s licensed for Hyosung is MotoGB UK (ring them) and SINNIS MOTORCYCLES (for newer models now)
Hyosung Korea has discontinued making any parts for the older carb models , so their main focus now is just the 2019+ models (injection bobbers)
eBay UK does have sellers still selling exhausts or take your old exhaust to any fabricator and ask them to clone it to stainless steel version
LEOVINCE ITALY still making beautiful exhausts for your specific 2011 model, expensive but it’s on Amazon UK
No STL files exist online sadly , but we have new ones on ebay (brand new) , regards
Sounds like you got this , have faith with it , at least “new” parts won’t have any excuses to run, so everything should just fire up with all the stuff being new!
