Description
The oil drain cover O-ring, sometimes called the oil strainer cap seal, is an inexpensive yet absolutely crucial replacement piece for keeping your bike completely leak-free. While many riders only swap out the main filter paper during a service, this specific O-ring and the metal mesh screen behind it must be pulled and inspected regularly. This is because the rubber naturally flattens and hardens under the continuous intense operating heat of the heavy-working 80hp V-Twin motor block. Sourcing this genuine factory Hyosung 650 sump O-ring is an essential maintenance task. It ensures a perfect fluid-tight fitment to stop slow weeping from forming under your engine case.
Replacing this minor component regularly is a simple but highly critical maintenance step. A flattened or split rubber seal will allow slow drops to escape, which can lead to major fluid loss under pressure and severe internal scoring if left unaddressed. We supply only authentic factory parts to ensure an exact fit and long-lasting seal performance during your latest restoration project.

🔧 Installation Tips
- Clean Your Seating Grooves: Use a clean lint-free cloth to thoroughly wipe out any old oil sludge, dark residue, or road grit from the internal cap channels and casing block face before fitting your new rubber part. Any trapped debris will cause a slow weep.
- Torque Your Threads Carefully: Thread the cover plug back home using your fingers first to ensure it isn’t cross-threaded. Nip it up securely using a hand spanner or socket, but avoid overtightening the casing threads roughly or you will easily strip out the soft aluminum engine block.
- Inspect and Clean the Wire Screen: While you have the metal cap unbolted and open on the workbench, slide the spring out and pull the wire mesh strainer down. Wash away any old carbon scaling or lacquer thoroughly with fresh cleaner before putting it back together.
