⚙️ BRAKE QUIET // TCTC/TCiC CALIPER W-STYLE PAD SPRING-PLATE x1

Tired of your brake pads rattling over every single bump? This stainless steel anti-rattle clip sits directly inside your caliper housing to keep your backing plates locked down firmly, perfectly aligned, and completely quiet. It is an aftermarket replacement part to restore solid brake lever feel if your original factory clip is bent, rusted, or missing entirely.

  • FITMENT LIMITS // Strictly for silver or gold TCTC/TCiC calipers.
❌ Will not fit later black 4-piston assemblies or DSG calipers.
  • PACK QUANTITY // Sold individually as 1x piece. Order multiple clips if you are restoring both front and rear calipers.

Description

When you take your machine out on bumpy roads, your brake pads can wobble, shake, and clatter inside the housing. This small W-shaped caliper tension shim acts as a constant pressure plate, pushing down on the metal backing plates so they remain secure, silent, and ready to bite the disc instantly when you grab the lever. If your front end is emitting an annoying clicking or ticking noise over road ruts, your old spring plate is likely distorted, corroded away, or dropped out entirely by a previous owner during a quick pad change. Slipping a fresh clip into the slider channel stops the chatter immediately.

❌ EXCLUSIONS:

  • GV125-S EFi Bobber: Incompatible. This machine runs a bespoke black linked setup that does not employ this specific anti-vibration shim plate.
  • Early 2003 GT125 & GV125: Incompatible. These early variants use DSG branded assemblies instead of TCTC parts.
  • GV250-DR (Post-2018): Will not fit the updated wheel configurations.

⚠ ATTENTION 250CC & 650CC OWNERS:

  • Later production versions of the GT650, GT650R, and GV650 switched to large black 4-piston front calipers hanging off updated black forks. These clips will not fit those assemblies.
  • Rear calipers on EFi versions of the GT250, GT250R, GT650, and GT650R manufactured from 2014 onwards changed to a black 2-piston opposing design that completely omits this spring plate style. ⚠️ Always check your actual component finish before purchasing.
💡 RECOMMENDED PAIRING: Pulling down your brake components to cure an annoying rattle is the perfect opportunity to replace pitted slide hardware. We stock high-grade UK-made stainless steel caliper pins that prevent the pads from binding. View Stainless Steel Caliper Pins

🔧 Install Tips

  • Clean the landing channels: Scrape away any packed road grime, hard dust crust, or white corrosion fur from the recessed metal ledges before setting the fresh clip down. If the seating zone isn’t smooth, the tension tab will sit cock-eyed and twist the backing plates.
  • Orientation check: Double-check the position of the metal ears against your old setup. The center bow must arch away from the piston faces to apply correct downward load without jamming. See the gallery photos for a clear visual example of it sitting inside the casting.
  • Pin lubrication: Slide your holding rods through the backing eyelets manually to ensure everything moves freely against the spring load. Put a tiny smear of high-temp copper lubricant on the pin shaft, keeping it well clear of the frictional lining.
