Renthal front sprockets are manufactured from a specially developed nickel-chrome-molybdenum steel, case hardened and core refined for a superior combination of surface strength and core toughness. The grooved tooth profile allows mud and debris to escape — preventing build-up that accelerates chain wear and causes extra drivetrain stress.

• 🧰 Inspect the countershaft and keyway for wear before fitting the new sprocket.
• 🔩 Replace the sprocket washer & safety lock if they show signs of wear — they’re cheap insurance.
• ⚖️ Torque the retaining nut to manufacturer spec and check final chain tension after 50 miles.
• 🧽 Clean the chain and sprockets and apply fresh chain lube — helps break-in and reduces wear.
• 🔁 If converting from 428 → 520 ensure the full conversion kit (front sprocket, rear sprocket, chain & spacers) is correct for your model.
