Description

The premium price tag represents a true chassis investment, but the physical return on the tarmac is priceless: immediate road safety, cornering confidence, and a supple ride quality that cheap unrated shocks cannot replicate. An old, under-damped factory shock completely compromises handling and tire adhesion under load. The YSS gas-charged unit brings professional-grade suspension engineering directly to your Hyosung GT/GTR, transforming how the entire motorcycle behaves across country lanes, daily urban commutes, and demanding track days. It is a high-end chassis upgrade designed to endure and perform at the absolute highest level.

💎 Precision Damping, Race-Proven Technology

Engineered specifically around the mechanical leverage of the Hyosung swingarm assembly, delivering immediate, scannable handling improvements.

Superior Stability
Completely removes rear-end wallow and pogo oscillation, anchoring your tire footprint firmly to the asphalt.
Adjustable Preload
Includes a robust threaded collar ring to fine-tune sag numbers for solo riding, luggage touring, or track pillion tasks.
Trusted Brand
Sourced from a globally recognized leader in aftermarket mono shock performance and dynamic road engineering.
Sharper Handling
Significantly quickens transitional turn-in response by maintaining stable, balanced rear geometry under heavy braking.

📜 Confirmed Fitment Guide

✅ FITS: GT125R, GT125RC, GT250R, GT250RC, GT650R, GT650RC (alongside all raw Naked frame equivalents).
📅 YEARS: 2003 through to 2020 production models.

❌ WILL NOT FIT: GV Aquila Cruiser series, GV650, ST7, or single-cylinder GD250 models. Structural chassis eyelet mountings and swingarm stroke measurements differ completely.

💡 PRO TIP – CHECK YOUR LINKAGE BEARINGS:
A premium high-performance shock is only as effective as its physical pivot connections. While unbolting your assembly, inspect and thoroughly grease your “dog-bone” linkage bearings. Noted wear on these needle rollers will degrade the smooth ride tracking of even the highest grade suspension damper.

🔧 Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Fit & Go: Clean, direct engineering dimensions guarantee a straightforward bolt-on setup with absolutely zero frame grinding, layout slicing, or custom mount revisions required.
  • Adjust to Your Weight: We are all configured to unique riding scales. Always tune the progressive spring preload collar using the provided C-spanner to accurately balance your static rear sag dimensions.
  • Delivery Note: This is a custom batch item allocated via our specialist production run. Please allow extra handling timeline allowances for safe transit to your address. (See estimated delivery indicators listed above).

📝 Real-World Feedback from Our Test Rider in Ireland

“If you enjoy performance and speed, then my god is it worth it. The damping and preload makes bumps and crests effortless, no bottoming out. Cornering is massively improved, I can’t fault it. It is a larger price tag, but it’s not everyday we get a company like YSS making a specific product for Hyosungs. If you are on the fence, then definitely go for it.”

Installed on RC 2018. This will be longer than most reviews but want to get all the details down to help you guys decide.

Ladies and gents, the big ticket item on here for the GT family. If you enjoy performance and speed, then my god is it worth it. The damping and preload makes bumps and crests effortless, no bottoming out and chain is free to do it’s thing. I have managed to test it here in Ulster on the road race tracks (not when closed roads sadly) and it performed like a dream, ride flows from section to section, cornering is massively improved, I can’t fault it. Adjustment is relatively simple, I’m 85kg/6 ft4 so some adjustment/firming was needed out of the box, but all very straightforward, plus a higher set ride height is noticeable for me. Installation is one for one with OEM, would recommend mechanic there to give the bones and links a once over/lubrication and for an extra pair of hands. It is a larger price tag, but it’s not everyday we get a company like YSS making a specific product for Hyo’s. If you are on the fence, then definitely go for it.
