Upgrade Regulator Rectifier {Reg Rec} :: EFi Hyosung GV250 GT250R GT250
Special Order_ A #1 electrical problem on a Hyosung? Regulator is usually the first suspect! – The old carby grey units used to fail a lot, until Hyosung started using black/charcoal ones on most EFi 250cc bikes. The OEM ones show signs of failure when you notice the following:
Poorer Charging / Unstable Idle / Runs hot / Wanes. It can burn holes at the back when it gives up the ghost. Very dim lights / Lifespan issues (primitive tech)
⚡️ Aftermarket Regulator (with hand-built cable ✔) :
❌ Will not fit 2016+ bikes with Big Connectors
👇 See which bikes fit below
| ❄ RUNS A LITTLE COLDER Better grade components than old diode tech & improved heatsink |
✔ Used on larger CC bikes Beefier than ALL OEM Hyosung regulators. |
| 🛠 PLUG & PLAY uses the same plug & wire positions |
🛠 HAND BUILT HARNESS By ourselves with a FUSE |
| ⚡ FORGET EBAY KNOCKOFFS Why pay £20 & be sorry later? |
💡 INLINE FUSE ADDED On the thick red wire |
| ⚡ FASTER CHARGING A little more juice than a stock unit! |
✔ HAPPIER MAGNETO Less load in your Stator/Generator |
We build the harness by hand, so that all you have to do is plug & play. There is no need to cut anything from your bike. 🤍
We buy the wires, pins, fuses and build a quality retrofit kit, all by hand.
ℹ Remember this though (If you want your charging system to last longer):
- The upgrade regulator is bigger, so get creative fitting it on the bike frame.
Make sure the plugs face the rear wheel! (Like the Korean’s did)
🔥 Or do you want oncoming water to fry electrics? - If your stator is burning wires, DO NOT get another regulator just yet
⚠ Get a new stator first! - If your stator burns our regulator in a short time, this means you have a bad stator and you will buy a regulator again!
⚠ Please test your stator first — We can’t stress this enough. - Chinese or rubbish batteries will stress your stator & regulator.
Use quality brands such as YUASA, EXIDE, UNIBATT

Battery Checks & Stator Install Tips
By the way, Battery condition is extremely important.
No stator can work correctly with a bad or weak battery. Always fully charge your battery before performing any charging system tests or replacing parts. If there is any doubt, have the battery load tested or replaced. Go to a proper mechanic or Halfords (UK) to get your battery “LOAD TEST” (they use special meters, not the basic multimeters you keep at home, that won’t work!)
Before installing your new magneto stator or regulator
Consider having a new stator too (If you use an old faulty one, it WILL kill the new regulator!) Replacing EFi parts is not always easy or cheap, so to save yourself some stress please check your stator by using the service manual & test it. Do exactly what Korea says in their service manual and get hard proof with a pocket meter. The service manual is in the

Starting with the quality of the wire work, excellently put together. As for longevity, I made this switch around 4k miles when my stock regulator went out. I decided to just replace the stator as well. (The stator provided by Marcel was a ElectroSport USA stator]
It has been three years since I’ve had these parts and they have continued to hold up. I blew one regulator fuse(THANK YOU) and that is from pushing the bike to the absolutely limit(6 months ago) on a speedrun to get to an Autoparts shop for a drainplug for my car before they closed.
If you are looking to replace the stock reg and stator I would trust the work put out here. They know where to find quality parts. If it wasn’t for wanting to not mess with this again, I would pick up a Shinden set that is still floating around here.
