• Piston cleanup: Before pushing the hydraulic pistons back to accommodate the thicker fresh linings, spray them with brake cleaner and brush away all accumulated grime. Pushing grit past the internal fluid seals will cause leaks and sticking.
• Check anti-rattle spring: Make sure the internal W-shaped spring plate is seated correctly inside the channel. If it is bent or loose, your fresh linings will wobble and clatter over road ruts. See the diagram picture for correct visual placement.
• Bedding-in process: Avoid heavy emergency stopping for the first 50 miles. Use gentle, progressive lever applications to allow the fresh semi-metallic material to transfer an even layer of compound onto your steel disc surfaces without glazing over.
