- Got the bolts of and the big screw but just need to get a puller now , is there a specific size puller or they all a generic size , cheers
I forgot off my head, but is it possible you can measure the bolt size that you took out from the center and find the thread pitch ? – If not i will try to dig through my archives the exact puller tools Hyosung uses themselves. You can also get a “generic” big rotor holder for bikes like harley or whatever that allows you to lock the flywheel in place (You will need it to tighten the bolt back in after swapping the starting clutch)
cheers for that ,never been this far into an engine before but thanks to you and vids on YT i am giving it a go ,just got to find a puller .

Oil drained , covers off , no teeth missing , pressed the starter button just to see if the sprockets turned ,and they did but just spun ,so whats the next step , buy a starter clutch puller and see the state of the clutch , i have watched vids on YT and i am fairly confident in having ago , do i need the bike in gear to undo the bolt plus do i need a plate to screw into the mag holes or will a puller manage this , cheers
Plus , how do you take out the screws and centre bolt when the mag just wants to turn , they are on tight and i cant get them to budge

Battery back out , charged and ready to go back in but will wait until thursday before the mot
Could be these in order….
- Solenoid Relay (common)
- Battery too old (Cells have aged , so won’t hold juice , hence the rapid drop from 12v to 9v when pressing start) = The dash almost dims out completely too.
- Battery may be new (if bought in 2024) but charging system is wanning , so next morning battery is not fully charged up to crank faster – 14v idling and 14v @5k revs ===> If less , replace regulator. Don’t buy china ones , they always (yes, always) burn the terminals or go on fire. Stator = Should be 80v @5k revs at every 3 yellow wire (eg. 70v, 70v, 70v) => Service manuals in this forum show how to test it.
- Starter Motor unit.
- ==> Hope not => Open your stator cover after you drain oil first = Look behind to see if your Flywheel Sprocket is missing any teeth. – or – starter “clutch bearing” is phasing out. => could be time for a new one.
cheers for that , had a good blast yesterday but this morning it would barely crank , mot thursday , not looking forward to that

Cheers for that ,will go and check .seems the logical place to start then trace back
Saw something on You Tube , have a wee look at the vid TPS issues
Had this problem on my TDM , went through the same rigmarole as you (grrr) fuel down the bores etc , turns out that the wire that went to the fuel injectors had coroded, so plenty crank but no start , replaced wire and Bingo she started , hope this helps , cheers from Scotland
Cheers , hope your getting on ok with the 125, we all had to start some where , if i had a 2017 model i could get a rack no probs , got a huge stuffa bag so it looks like thats coming out of the locker soon, looking at saddle bags , just bought a bigger screen , fender extender and an oiler for the chain, bark buster hand guards are on the list as well , if i see you on the road remember to nod or wave , cheers
Cheers for that , is there a rack to fit a top box on that is compatible with a 650, i would use that with saddle bags and a bigger bag as well, i do a lot of hill walking in Scotland so i take a lot of equipment but i have always managed it on my bike.
Maybe i should have bought something more appropriate but i got this bike for an absolute steel .
Hi , thanks for the reply and making me feel welcome .
I have 2018 model and dont know which rack to go for , any suggestions would be most helpful .cheers in advance.
