I’m so happy that it finally stopped raining here, first summer since long that it rained for 2 weeks or so. Bright skies are ahead of us here, i hope your side will follow 😉
Sharing things i do to the bike…
Last weeks i’ve purged the breaks and replaced brake liquid to be sure. Rear brake stopped working so i started with that one. I noticed some filth in the fluid so i decided to do the front one as well.
Then I decided to grease the levers etc as mentioned in the service manual.
In a month or two i will replace oil and filter.
No more visits to my dealer, i decided to do service myself.
Maybe something other riders should be aware of: Some weeks ago on a very hot day i noticed a weird sound when i was riding. I stopped my ride and checked out what it could be. It was my license plate. The plate was folded in half and scraping on my rear wheel!!! I went to my dealer and he told me it was the second bike he had seen with this problem. For him it was plastic that became weak because of the hot weather. After he fixed this, i repainted some of the letters with nail polish.
Besides the services i installed a small windscreen, a phone holder and some bags at the tail.
I have ordered some bar risers, should arrive this week.
And finally yesterday i experimented with the seat. It was allright but could be more comfortable, mainly the passenger seat. I had some padding lying around, so i decided to upgrade the seat with it. Then i took a piece of a fabric and pulled it over the padding and the seat and stapled it. I also had an old raincoat, cut a piece of and laid it over the fabric. As a the finishing touch i found a chair cover for the top layer. I don’t now yet if i will leave it on, i can always pull it back of again, we’ll see…
I must say that the seat is very comfortable now, but i need a bar raiser.
So, is this summary what you want, or would you like me to open a new thread and make a small tutorial when i do a service? …
Kind regards,
Koen.
