Jul 9, 2023 at 8:08 PM in reply to: Hyosung Owners Picture Gallery: Show Off Your Bike Photos & Mods 📸 #10706Finally got round to taking a picture somewhere nice. Went out for a ride to the coast Friday night.
Bike is running well….except since fixing the electrical issue i have, well, an electrical issue! The indicators are temperamental…sometimes they work sometimes they don’t. Anyway something to fix at some point to stop me needing to use arm signals!!

Thanks!
Order placed…happy to report back/take any pictures during installation.
Good news…the bike is running again.
First issue, the ignition switch had corroded contacts. Now all cleaned up.
Second issue, a break in the power line somewhere between the junction above the rec/reg and the ignition switch. Rather than breaking out the loom, i’ve run a new wire.
After a day learning how to disassemble parts of a bike and trace electrical woes i then went on a 15 mile shakedown ride and all seems good.
Will try and get out again tomorrow, weather permitting. But fingers crossed!
I’ve not tried jumpstarting it…or even know if that would work. Will need to find some jump leads.
At the moment i’m getting 12.8v at the battery and live side of the ignition switch but nothing after that…nothing on the dash/dials, lights, etc.
I’ve now had chance to look at this and its all a bit confusing.
Battery is holding steady at 12.8v.
I have 12.8v on the red wire at the ignition switch.
Once the ignition is on i don’t get 12.8v on the orange wire at the ignition switch. After i turn the ignition switch to on i get about 0.5v on both wires.
I would have expected 12.8v on the orange wire after the ignition is on, and the same going back to the relays and switched fuses.
Could it be something putting load on the ignition?
Thanks for the tips!
I’m away with work at the moment so will start digging into this on Friday hopefully.
Will feedback what i find.
Hi
Also located in the NE of Scotland, but completely other end of the biking spectrum to you…about 2 months and less than 100 miles experience on a 125!
But looking forward to the spring and summer evenings!
Sorry, nothing useful to add to the question on the rack 🙂
Just been out for a lovely evening ride and its all working fine now.
Strange but nevertheless problem has gone! -
