I haven’t checked in for quite a while! I couldn’t pass up this nice SYM Classic 150, so I spent 2 weeks cleaning, polishing, and getting any and all maintenance caught up. Then spent 11 days in Amsterdam & Dublin. Upon return to East coast USA we were greeted by the horrific Hurricane Helene. The destruction in South Carolina, North Carolina and East Tennessee is indescribable. Our back yard alone took 2 weeks to clean up tree carnage. After riding my 19 hp KLX 230 and the 15hp SYM the GT 250 felt like a Hyabusa! snicker snicker

Welcome, and sharp bike!
Welcome! Enjoy your new ride and that helper!
163 mile mountain loop on a gorgeous day.Marcel got me fixed up ! Thank you!
Very sharp!!
Welcome Ziggy! I thought 2008 was carb? ?🤷♂️
Welcome Russell!!

Did you apply throttle with a pair of pliers all the way home? Nice work. That’s not much fun. My throttle cable rotates under the handlebar switch (at the curved metal piece, infornt of your pliers). It’s probably normal but mine gets stuck with the bend pointing to the front of bike. When i turn right at near full-lock, it pulls the cable tight around the right fork, the throttle opens up & starts revving it’s head off, when i’m trying to do slow, tight turns. That’s no fun either. 🙂
Yes, I had to use the pliers all the way to apply throttle. Thanks. I think in your case, maybe you need to look at rerouting your cable. That is not great with your climbing revs!

I too cut the 4 bolt flange off and slid a Danmoto CF muffler on. I had it lying on the shelf from my 390 Duke.

^ I too was a Michelin Man ( and Shinko, Metzler, Pirelli, Continental)for many years. I really am a fan of these Dunlops though! I have 750 miles on them, many damp, most all cold roads, even some funky frosty tarmac. They definitely make the GT handle much better than the OEM tyres! This is about as far as I care to lean it over on public roads. They are very confidence inspiring. My brother just put these on his Z400 Kaw and he likes them also.

We had a cold snap this morning (24F) and it really didn’t warm up much in the mountains, but it was dry and very sunny. So ride we did! No traffic, amazing roads and scenery. All riding was at elevation, along rivers, lakes, forests. I had to soak in a hot shower to get the chills out. Not much for pictures today, just felt like staying in the saddle. If you look close at some of those rocks, they have icicles hanging down.I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, this motor is a real treat! Putter around it’s happy. Use the midrange grunt it’s happy. Rip it to red line and it’s happy. My well baffled carbon can sounds very right. The Dunlop Mutants are amazing, wet, dry, icy frost. I haven’t used Dunlops since 1982. Call me impressed!

Left early AM in fog and 47 degrees F, 15 minutes later I had blue sky and warming quickly. 134 miles of mountain twisties.
