Thanks,
On my first go, I think the float stuck as it wouldn’t go then gas came out the overflow. Tore it down again then used your suggestion and with some tweeking I have it running reasonably well. I’m letting it sit and will see how it behaves tomorrow.
Today I finally received the brake lever I ordered and it is a correct fit for the old one. I did have to force the mounting bolt as the hole in the new lever was slightly out of position. I also put a bit of white grease on the bolt and lever to allow it to operate smoothly.
If someone needs one of these levers, search the part number listed earlier and a couple of sources pop up. I used Hyosung Parts. The shipped quickly. The long delay before I got it was due to Canada Customs processing time.
Hello,
Although Hyosung kept asking for a part number, they never took the time to figure out what I needed even if they no longer produced it.
A few hours after this post, by fluke, I came upon a picture of the lever showing two different suppliers. If you search 57600HG5800 you will find what I came up with.
I have ordered one and hope it arrives and does the job.
Unfortunately I can’t post a picture as for some reason the icon to do so does not appear for me on the site. An administrator was going to look into the problem but so far it is still a no show.
I’m new to the site but possibly someone who knows how can create a tech note about the part for others. If the part arrives and is a correct replacement, I will update this post.
By the time I finished typing the previous message, the add media tab was gone and it isn’t in place for this message either.
If the hose piece fails again due to heat from the exhaust, I will try blocking the pipe and see if it causes any problems. I’m still leaning towards the floorboard heat to get rid of moisture or frost.
Guess what! The add media button is where it should be today. Maybe the system has a delay on some features for newbies.
This morning I bought some heater hose and put it in place of the piece of garden hose that had failed.
I fired up the engine and things were quieter and the blue smoke settled down after several minutes. As it had not run in 3 years, I had sprayed some penetrating oil into the cylinder just in case.
The plastic cooling fan shroud is badly broken and won’t direct the fan air to cool the cylinder. I have bookmarked the Hyosung catalogue site. Is that where I would go to order parts? If so, what is the delivery time normally?
Thanks
Me again, I don’t have that media tab showing on my tablet or on my desktop computer. is it possible to send a private message and possibly put the pictures to you that way? I see you are an administrator so if you have access to my email address you could send me a separate email and I can respond to you that way.
Also, being in Canada I don’t think there are any dealers near me. I need the two plastic parts that make up the shroud around the cooling fan. Is it possible to order direct from Hyosung? I have a link to their catalogue and it lists those parts but nothing to do with the exhaust section I have. Seeing as mine is a 2007, maybe they no longer list for it.
I took off the front panel running up behind the steering column and what looked like a muffler is one. It runs up under the right side of the frame then has a small curved exit pile to dump that exhaust in the front belly pan area where it would disburse under the bike between the floorboards and the belly plastic. “FOOT WARMER” Who knows.
I have been looking for the “add media” tab but can’t find it.
