I’m doing this on my own, maybe with some help from my biker friends. My mechanic last serviced my bike about a year ago. I also recently bought a torque wrench, might come in handy when replacing the handlebar. I suppose I need to torque down important bolts after first ride since rebuild? I’ve heard that especially steering needs to get in place on its own. I’ll start the rebuild next weekend and I probably will update you on how it goes. I’ll post here if I have a problem with putting something together, cheers
There was a dealer called “Romet” which sold Hyosung bikes, but it doesn’t now since 2017, and pretty much there are no original parts available here. Some bikes are available as parts bikes, but I don’t know about the condition of the parts that I’m looking for. Maybe my mechanic can work something out, I’ve been at his shop a few times with my bike and he did a great work. I have only replaced basic things, such as a clutch link (from a suzuki gn 125) and clutch & brake levers. I don’t really want to replace anything harder than that, because I don’t want to mess up anything.
Sounds like the Cam Tensioner = I would 100% replace it , just for a peace of mind. Also you may need to do some “valve clearances too”, especially if the valve clearances are loose, the engine will make the same “ra-tat-tat-tat” sounds almost sounding like an baby AK47 gun But i would place my bets on the tensioner. Also do you have a cylinder oil leak? as the middle of the rear cylinder looks dark
Thanks for the reply. The bike has 34100 km of mileage so if the previous owner/owners didn’t replace the cam tensioner, that could be the cause. I also thought it was timing related, but I didn’t know where exactly the sound could be coming from. Are the timing parts hard to find/expensive? I don’t want to put too much money into this bike, since I am soon probably doing an A2 license.
And no, I don’t have an oil leak, the carburetor was leaking fuel from the float chamber, but that has been fixed by now. It’s not dirty nor oily anymore. Kind of weird that it looks like an oil leak.
