Absolutely brilliant, and totally MAD!! I was never a big AC/DC fan, more Dire Straits and Yes! and Pink Floyd, but that performance is unforgettable.
Hi Alan, thanks. What are the Needle Sliders though? If they are the Needle Jets, I have new ones with the needles. Happy riding!
😀
Thanks Marcel. I’m so loathe to take the carbs off and do it as you said! I was thinking of a cone filter but there’s no clearance!
I don’t know what the sound format was, just recorded it on WhatsApp! Can’t remember what the site said, I think it just gave an ERROR and can’t load that file!
SUCCESS!!! I cleaned carbs again and blew every hole I could get to with compressed air. So I have new needles and jets, new main jets (92.5 and 95), new float valves, new pilot jets and mix jets out 2.5 turns. Put all back together, fitted without air box, filled float bowls with fuel via a tube and funnel, checked fuel out from pump (slow dribble), set choke 3/4 and pressed starter. Immediate start! I can’t get the grin off my face!! Bike seems to rev OK but I’m not pushing it as haven’t changed the oil yet.
All I need now is to get the air box back on! It’s time someone designed and made a new one that can be fitted after carbs. Come on engineers, someone make one!
Thank you so much, Marcel, for all your help.
I tried to load a sound file of engine running but it wouldn’t load. Boo-Hoo!
It’s the part arrowed in the pictures above that we talked about, Marcel. Think I’m going to need a new front carb body, if that’s possible!
I’ve buggered up!!I tried the wire and got it down one, but not the front carb, so I foolishly tried a very fine needle and broke the tip off! With heat on the carb body will that brass item come out? And if so, can I get another?
Better still, do you know anyone breaking one that I could buy the twin setup?
Will try again! Thanks so much for the info.
Sorry to keep asking questions Marcel but should there be a hole in this item (white arrow)? You mentioned a very small hole, but I can’t get cleaner or anything through it, or feel where air might come out, and I’m loathe to refit until I’m sure it’s OK.

cof Thanks Marcel. I’ll try again! Happy New Year!
Oh I forgot to mention that revs didn’t change and engine stopped as soon as throttle touched – not surprising with only one cyl going!
Fuel. I have no idea what E5 fuel means. Here in Spain it’s 95 unleaded or 98 octane I use 95
OK! I decided to do a more exhaustive check (no pun intended!) and after starting I let it run for a bit to get exhausts warm. Front warm, rear COLD! I have a spark so must be carb or airflow. So I’ve pulled the carbs off (easier 2nd time!). The stub seals were perfectly fine, so I’ve stripped the carbs again and thoroughly cleaned and blown through. In the kits you sent there were 4 seals as per picture, and I don’t know where they should go. Can you tell me? Should there be anything on the idle jets? And what are the brass bits arrowed? How can they be cleaned internally?
Happy hols!

I eventually got it all back together again, checked fuel to carbs, and sparking nicely, and …….no start! Not even a cough! Looks like I’ll have to take them off and start the whole process again. Very despondent. Any more advice before I do. Won’t start again now until after Christmas!
Have a good hol!
Hear hear!! I have been very impressed with the response to questions posed, and with delivery of parts to Spain. Stuck here with not much Spanish the site has been a godsend.
Thank you guys. Keep it up!
Dec 18, 2022 at 12:58 PM in reply to: [How to Tutorial] How to Remove & Re-Install the GV125 Carby | GV250 AirBox (Alternative Guide) #9252I got them off OK, but it’s a bugger to get back on! What do you use to hold the O rings in place whilst trying to ease the intake pipes back on? I’ve never seen such an awkward job in all my motorcycling years – and I’m 76!! And of course you need to position the carb clamps so that they can be re-tightened. Hope someone can give me advice before I tear what hair I’ve got left out!!
I think it must be an alarm or immobilizer. Trouble is it looks almost impossible to get to! Really don’t know what to do about it, but I suppose if it doesn’t affect me, leave it!

dav I do not know what the receptacle in the left side cover is. Th small bit on the keyring fits it and both have 2 elect contacts. Could it be an alarm?
Sorry about not getting this right 1st time. I was trying to drop the image directly into this space and not using the add media !

dav Hi Marcel. You say I need to adjust the mixture screw to 2.5 turns out. I take it this is under a metal blank which I need to pry out? And therefore are the Air/Fuel rubber plugs in your shop to put in after adjustment?
The latest 3 addition should not be in my post! They are not from me but from Sergej, so email returns to me are not required!
