Marcel, what is “wanning”? And could you please answer my question – can you obtain a pair of new or second hand carburettors, and if so, what cost?
Thanks
Advice on these plug pics please. It looks as if the rear is lean and the front is rich to me.

cof
sdr Not running well! I’m not sure if it’s running on 2 cyls!! The front pipe doesn’t seem as hot as the back one.
I would be grateful if someone could post a sound byte here of a 250 at idle, and snap the throttle open to high revs, so I can compare the sound and speed of revs rising, to mine. I don’t know if it could be because of the possibly blocked idle jet on the font cyl.
Waiting!
Thanks Marcel, great video! Would your diagnosis be correct even though with no load, in neutral, it revs perfectly?
Hi Marcel. I said choke not chock!! The rpm stalls at about 4000. Unfortunately, I live in the country and the roads are appalling! I couldn’t do much and there aren’t any strait bits, so I didn’t notice speed, but in 3rd it just stopped accelerating at about 4000. I can’t go out on main roads as I don’t have an ITV (MOT) yet.
Does that help?
Thanks Marcel
Marcel, am I right that the carbs on the 125 are the same as my 250, apart from jets?
Would you sell the carbs o0n their own?
Thanks very much Marcel, Alles klar!!
It didn’t start at first, with or without choke, but one squirt of EastStart again it was off! It started and ran with no choke 2nd time. So I’m going to re-assemble everything next week and hope for the best! I would really like to strip carbs again, but it is such a hassle that I’m going to risk it for a biscuit! Hopefully more next week and perhaps even a photo!
Marcel – 😆 (see smily face!). I followed your advice to the letter, and after a while, spraying easy start (managed to find some in my local car spares place) in continuously, the front cyl caught but stopped (I had full choke). So choke off and a bit more spray and it ran continuously. Gave it a little bit of throttle slowly and it revved, so I stopped it, connected rear plug and it started, but only seemed to be running on the front cyl! I slowly opened the throttle, then when I got to 3000 revs, it took off! Back to idle and it was a bit hesitant again to rev, but again, at 3000 it took off. Kept it running for a bit, checked both pipes hot, then shut down. Waited a bit and then restarted – beautiful!
Now I must wait until tomorrow and see if it will start when cold. Before worrying about plug colour, should I wait until I’m able to do a road test? Assuming that tomorrow it starts again!
Thanks Marcel, I will try all this. However, I really just want to get the damn bike going. CAN you get me a front carb body, or even a twin carb set-up, and I would post you mine. The cost is not material now as I have already spent a lot of money, so I will pay whatever is necessary. Please ring me if you can.
Hi Alan, the starting jet is not removable, unfortunately. It’s the long brass bit that sticks up from body (see pics above). I wonder what would happen if I chopped it in half, got the needle out, and epoxy glued it back together!!!
I do have a spark!
Is there anything you can suggest I try with carbs in-situ Marcel?
Oh dear! Marcel, I am despondent! I am back to running on rear cylinder only. I felt sure the bike would run, even with the front carb starting jet blocked with a broken off needle tip (!!), but it seems it won’t. I have a spark, but only running rear pot. Can you find me a front carb body or suggest anything else I can try. I will send you pics of carbs via email. I have all the new jets already, so can fit them to a body. Hope you can help.
Tried that and got bubbles out top, but decided to look closely at caliper. One piston very difficult to get out and badly pitted, so I’ve decided to get new master, caliper and pipe-line! Looking on ebay it’s nearly as expensive to get repair kit as to buy new complete caliper from Hyosung.eu. One thing though, the master doesn’t show the stop light switch. Is this transferable from mine, or will it come with it?
Thanks Marcel, I will try that and let you know how it goes!
The new front brake master cylinder piston arrive very quickly (interestingly, from Madrid!), but I still can’t get fluid to flow down to caliper. Looking at a flow diagram of master cylinders, one says there should be a check valve at the output end of the cylinder, but there is nothing in mine. Is this right? Can anyone shed light on my problem?
It looks like I’ll have to buy complete front brake system if no-one can offer a solution.
Thanks Jason. I think the seals are OK, but (dare I say this!) I’ve got a replacement piston coming from China (<€5). No-one else does one, so I thought I`d try one, it might save £60!
Just looked up the GV300SA. I love it! Want one! €5250 new – incredible! I can dream!
