Hello again!
I’m back with new discoveries and a new conundrum. After scratching my head for a few days I realized the confusion was an emissions evap canister was installed onto the bike and made routing the vacuum lines a real pain to figure out but I found another helpful video that showed me where I was going wrong. I removed the canister and now it looks like every other GV650 I’ve seen being worked on and like the pictures in the service manuals. Now comes the part where I’m confused again. It connected to the bottom of the air cleaner box by way of a vacuum hose but I have no idea where this hose originally connected.
The cut hose on this eBay listing is the hose I’m referring to. On the evap canister, it connected to air cleaner box from the vacuum hose at the very top of the canister. The other octopus of hoses were randomly hooked up wherever which I think was overcomplicating the vacuum system and confusing me even more.
Any guidance would be super appreciated!
Thank you SO much for this! At first I was a little lost with two of the hoses but after reading your reply a few more times it all made sense and I can’t wait to get back to working on the bike!!
Also, I had found a length of hose that was nestled over the coolant reservoir which I thought was just someone who didn’t care enough to reconnect a hose but it turns out… I’m that someone 😂 I must’ve disconnected it and it’s the hose you were saying I should buy a meter of and allow to rear/suspension linkage.
Hopefully this is all I needed to do and I can get it running and road ready soon!
