Yeah i did put some gas down on the valves they are good thank fully. I guess it was unavoidable that front motor needs to be rebuilt when i got the bike. So thats what im going to do. Im just hoping that
Hyosung Cylinder Front with Adjuster and Gasket (new model) GV250
This is the correct part and that when it says afjustet it is talking about the cam chain tensioner. Im assuming
If my timing was not 100 percent could that be a reason the compression could be off. I dont have the funds to get the parts I want I was thinking about putting it back together and making sure timing cuz I relized I had my timing at 14 links and as I was reading through forums it said it should be 16 could that be why compression is down.
I was thinking of just putting in new piston and rings, new cylinder, new cam chain tensioner cuz the one I already replaced is broke. I’m just trying to figure out if I have an old or new style cylinder! I’m thinking its an old one but it says it could be a new one cuz its newer then 2007. I dont have a dial caliper thanks to my ex taking all my tools. So I might have to go pick one up to find out what cylinder I need!
Well the valves have no damage that I can see they look to be in good working order i can take so.e pictures to show. Could it be the piston or piston rings?
Alright here’s an update I got everything stripped down but I didn’t open it up yet it got dark and im doing this outside rather not deal with the mosquitoes there bad out here and if it another wet morning like yesturday then I’d rather have the motor all closed up until that dew passes threw. But I stripped her down today so tomarrow I can open up and see what’s wrong. And I had just redone the valves and replaced the cam cuz it was snapped whenni first opened her up thats how I had got it. the timing only had skipped 2 maybe 3 links at the most! I shale see the damage in the morning and ill update then thanks!
What shouod i be looking for when I take the hesd off? If nothing pops put at me. I’ll notice a bent vavle ive seen that before on this bike when I first got it. But other then that idk what im really looking for.
Alright I got the results and I dont think im going to be hearing any good news from this but the rear compression is at 125psi and the front compression is 60-65 psi i did this with a cold motor but I dont think the results would change much if it was warm but i could be wrong if I am let me know and ill rerun test with a warm motor! So let’s hear what’s the next steps are.
So I have ordered tools needed to do compression test and if I end up opening the motor up again I ordered so.e feeler gauges to check valve clearance.
Yeah thats what had happened before I got the bike it had skipped timing and the pistons had smashed the valves. I ended up replacing pretty much the whole front motor. But I dont have any tools at the moment so ill have to find some but ill let you know what the readings say after I do it. Idk how long thats gunna take tho.
Winter haha not here in California there’s no such thing! We ride our bikes year round!
Well it did not bring sparks back! Bit I have received the parts I ordered and after slapping them on I have spark and bike is running! I think I have an intake leak due to after warm up I get a running idle so today I’ll be putting new Owings on my intake manifold!. So I replaced the cdi the plugs the caps and the coils!. Might as well just knock them all of at once. But that did the trick. Today on list to do is clutch cable replacement intake rings replace. Wire tachometer in since my bike didn’t have one! That’s it for today but got lots of things planned for the bike.
Okay simple enough. I’ll try to see if that brings the spark back or not.
But yes the bike does have a kickstand switch and clutch switch how would I bypass these. So many useless things drives me crazy.
Well i had the kickstand up and held in clutch as i was testing for spark. I tested the coils and there not giving me a ohm reading just stays at one so im going replace those. And the caps mightvas well change the plugs as well.. after these parts come in and i install them ill post an update.
A Nice lil run. Dropped into second gear! The best way. I was told never use another vehicle to jump start a bike. So i never have.
Aug 19, 2023 at 12:55 AM in reply to: Is it possible to convert GV250 carb model (2007) to run an electric fuel pump? #11027So I dont need to run a hose from the rear cyclinder to the gas tank. I only need to run the line from the front cylinder to the fuel pump. Im haveing totally dif issues but if thats the case then i would much rather do that. Currently i have front and rear meat at a T connection with runs towards the fuel pump but right before the fuel pump i have another T connection witch splits it an i attach one side to pump and the other to the left side of gas tank. Before this I had had a T right outside of rear intake witch i ran one hose to right side of gas tank the other one went across and connected with the front manifold and then over to the fuel pump but i qasnt sure on what tap it was supposed to attach to under gas tank. So i changed it to the way i have it now and it sounded better and and felt more responsive and then i filled the tank and i wasnt able to even to keep her idling. Dieing at stop lights unless i gave lots of gas shitty ride home thats for sure. But when tank got lower it got better so idk what the problem was. Its probably still there but currently I have no spark. Idk remember why but i disconnected the cdi and when i reconnected to go to work she wouldnt start. And reason is no spark. So something happened either unplugging or plugging cdi in. Im at a loss.
