Okay ill give lil back story and how i got to where its at today. So i bought this bike threw an app. Paid only 300$ i knew it was going to have some problems but it only had 4141 miles on it so how bad could it be. Anyways the front top head was trashed broken camshaft bent exhaust valves. Got new ones and learned alot switching those out. By the way this is second bike first one was good never had any problems just totaled by a drunk driver that hit me on the freeway. I made it out qith a lil bit of rad rash nothing to serious luckily. But lil to say bike didnt. Thats how i ended up getting this needed something to get to work and back. So i took off carbs did a real good cleaning of those and thought that would do the trick. But then i needed to figure out hoses and still not quit sure if i have those right but she was running. Rwally rich but running And so i went for a ride but the bike wouldnt go over 30. So back to the drawing board. Compression tests and front on was no go so i opened front up to find camshaft and valves. After i finished the valves and the new camshaft and got the timeing right the bike came to life. I started driving her to work. Was a few tweeks i was working out cuz i knew she wasnt put together 100 percent right high idle or stalling at lights but got me to work as im trying to figure it out. But onto the situation i am at now idk what made me take the cdi OFF but i unplugged that. Well when i plugged it back it to go to work hooked the battery back up she was cranking but was not starting im like thats weired usually she dont start when battery low or dead but other then that she fires up. Well i drained battery trying to get her going so i tried jumping her took only 1 try and i said nope something i way wrong she isnt going to start. So parked her rushed to work. Got home started investigating. Reading idk whats wrong wirh my damn multimeter but im getting a new one. So i havent checked the coils yet but before i unplugged the cdi they where fine. I think. So im wondering if theres is something i have to do to the cdi when i plug it back it. Cant find anything online.
Im located in USA california. And my names William.

A Nice lil run. Dropped into second gear! The best way. I was told never use another vehicle to jump start a bike. So i never have.

Some GV’s have it , some do not. Do you see wires going to the kickstand switch and also the clutch handle bar lever switch ? = These 2 also cut sparks off

Well i had the kickstand up and held in clutch as i was testing for spark. I tested the coils and there not giving me a ohm reading just stays at one so im going replace those. And the caps mightvas well change the plugs as well.. after these parts come in and i install them ill post an update.

But yes the bike does have a kickstand switch and clutch switch how would I bypass these. So many useless things drives me crazy.

KickStand Switch = Cut it and join the wires at the harness side , and tape it very well, so it doesnt rust up or have water attacking it.
Clutch Switch = It is more recommended to replace it than bypassing it , as it may save you from “false neutral” starts , bike thinks it is in neutral when it is actually not, so if you press start , bike chugs forward and falls to the floor, and it may damage the flywheel sprocket due to extra strain on it)
For “testing purposes” , you can get use a metal paper clip , to join the 2 bullet connectors , to test for sparks.

Okay simple enough. I’ll try to see if that brings the spark back or not.

Well it did not bring sparks back! Bit I have received the parts I ordered and after slapping them on I have spark and bike is running! I think I have an intake leak due to after warm up I get a running idle so today I’ll be putting new Owings on my intake manifold!. So I replaced the cdi the plugs the caps and the coils!. Might as well just knock them all of at once. But that did the trick. Today on list to do is clutch cable replacement intake rings replace. Wire tachometer in since my bike didn’t have one! That’s it for today but got lots of things planned for the bike.
