Good lord!☠😬 How long has that bike been sitting unused for ? Im amazed the rodents didn’t chew the wires and die of the shocks , If the bike runs today, i guess you can celebrate! – Rarely do we see that in UK and the bike is alive , usually its a full rebuild as soon as its found in some old barn years later! 😯😱😲
supposedly it was run over the summer. We get really cold winters so honestly it doesn’t take long for rodents to find way into things. But I’m assuming no one ever checked. I always check never assume that a rodent hasn’t been in to things and tear a bike apart when I get it. Tomorrow I’m going through the carb surprised how clean it was when I checked gonna have to adjust float levels because I was told it flooded front cylinder. So I’m tearing it down entirely looking everything over to determine if it needs to be rebuilt. Clean twice then I’ll blow air through it and repeat the process till I’m happy. And then I’ll put her back together and decide what I have to do next aside from oil change/and tuneup. But overall still pretty happy with it. I wish someone didn’t drill out the baffles so I’m watching some exhaust systems on eBay to try and get it back to stock.
No running video file size is too large. But here is the stuff I did today.

I did end up getting the seat off and messing with it the key just doesn’t work in that part so I’m gonna replace because I think it’s the lock cylinder itself. I got all the parts working but it just seems to far gone. One to the good news I got the air filter and carbs off the bike. Carbs look pretty good just waiting on ordering a rebuild kit. I did start the bike before removing everything just to see if I could hear anything so at least I know it runs now. Will throw in some pics of the bike apart and a running video. Did find a mouse nest so also took care of that.
I’ll try that stuff Monday or Tuesday and if it doesn’t work I’ll pm you about the other methods. Thanks a million.
if a part was not possible to get but do not mind an extra
Thank you I will keep this in mind. And yeah it took away riding for 5 years for me just trying to get back in the saddle. I’ve seen a lot of these bikes going for cheap up my way because people just don’t try to repair things correctly so hopefully I can get a few cheap this summer. Nothing really concerns me too much not a mechanic by any means but I tinker with a lot of bikes. Have a BMW 1000 and Honda sport touring bike as well as an older silver wing and a 1969 cb175 that I have torn to pieces lol. Also getting my vstar back this summer. But I got to say I really like these hyosungs. Would really like to get my hands on the 250 sport bike and I love the looks of the gv650 love how mean it looks.
Welcome to the club , hope you keep her for a while , they are fantastic to ride on. The
Yeah for sure I’ve been looking for as much info as I can. Also have a bunch of parts I’m watching in eBay as I haven’t found too many part sources in the US yet. Would like to find a wind screen and maybe a crash bar as well as feet boards. But that’ll come once I start working again health isn’t great which is why I wanted a smaller bike a few bikes I have are around 1000 pounds and I can’t move them easily also very short inseam so the days of leaning a bike on one foot are gone for now. Very happy I found this group and the Facebook group. Look forward to reading more about these bikes. Eventually I want to get some of the others as well.
