Cool! I’ve been racking my brain trying to find which regulators work for it. It seems like the 2015-2017 gv250’s experienced the same changes, but every site I’ve been on regarding aftermarket regulators only are good for, at best, the 2010-2016 models, with none being mentioned for the 2017. According to a few Korean sites I’ve been on, apparently, the GN250n (called the Mirage in Korea) stopped production in 2017 for the Korean market, and started production of the gv250dr between 2017-2020, when production stopped all together for the “Mirage.” So when sourcing parts, can I assume or treat it like a 2016, since I’m guessing that’s the final year they made the GV250 for the international market? Is there maybe an adaptor? Idk- also, the motorcycle has around 19,000 km on it when I got it, without the regulator needing replacing from my knowledge, so is it still a msut to replace it, or can I hope I got lucky?
Thanks!
The guy ended up not trading because of his wife. Guess he was thinking about loop holing his wife telling him to sell his bike by trading it for another one lol. Going with the 2017. Thanks!
Thanks again! Buying a 2017 GV250 tonight. I noticed somewhere on this that they’re selling aftermarket regulators, but its only for use up to the 2015 model, since the 2016+ models have “different big connectors”. Would the 2017 need a different regulator? If so, which? thanks again!
Also, any sources on owner’s/service manuals for the bike? manualslib.com has one, but over half of the pages on the pdf are empty.
Thanks- okay, so final question about this, gonna pull the trigger likely tomorrow on either a 2006 GV250 (regulator might need to be replaced) or a 2017 GV250 (regulator definitely has to be replaced and also needs a new cable for the speedometer)- both run well. Similarly priced (although guy’s willing to trade the 2006 for my current 125 and some cash, which’ll make my life a little easier). 2006 seems slightly better maintained (still in use vs garaged).
Is there a significant benefit of the EFI over the carburetors? Is there anything else I should watch out for?
Thanks again!!
Also, if the regulator needs to be replaced, which brand should the it be replaced with? Thanks!
Thanks a bunch! That’s extremely useful to know once I upgrade my current 125cc to- likely- a 2000s era Mirage.
(btw, American here in Korea)
