Hello! I’d stay away from ECU flashes and such, doing things like that tend to come with their own problems sadly if it aint broke don’t try fix it ;). The chain is a must, you wouldn’t go back I had to washer up my left hanger bracket but I doubt you’ll have this problem on a GV. Just out of interest what tyres are on it? If it’s the Shinkos (I doubt it being that old) please get rid! Might be worth looking for a front fender extender too if they do one for yours :).
Oh okay, yeah an ecu flash seems super risky indeed, I was only thinking about it cause a friend of mine recently flashed their Honda Monkey 125 with pretty cool results (noticably faster accelleration and higher top speed). But I think with the chain, clutch, and possibly spark plug upgrades I’ll be fine until I graduate to a larger displacement. I bought my gv125s secondhand but I’m pretty sure it’s still the stock tyres on there. I’ll take a picture tomorrow and post it here so people can check.
Is something happening with your clutch? does it need it? Spark plug upgrades and stuff would be wicked for you! I would genuinely not bother installing a new clutch unless it’s properly fully gone it isn’t worth the time paying someone to do it unless you need to. How many miles are on your speedo? has it done much?
ah no I don’t think anything is wrong with the clutch per sé but I read people here saying it was one of the things most worth upgrading after the chain. You think it’s not necessary? Probably best to do the spark plugs and caps first then?

NGK Caps (Spark Plug HT Leads) , sorry!
okay! no worries haha, thanks for clarifiying
Welcome! Hope to see the completed upgrades you will post on the forum 🙂 Not many people do ECU flashes as they are afraid that a false move could mean they can’t get a replacement ECU , however , they try to improve the sparking a little bit , the most improved mods would be something like a 520 chain set and a good clutch upgrade for long summer trips. If you have OEM caps, replace them with NGK ones , that’s the only major electrical complaint people have in the UK , sometimes the stock caps ruin the coils next. And invest in a good regulator! That’s pretty much it. You could at your own pace upgrade the tyres too, so its less suicidal when riding in the rain, i was never a fan of the stock Tyres Hyosung used in the past. # I believe once you go 520, you won’t go back to the tiny chain 🙂
Omg thanks for the advice! Yeah an ecu flash is not something I’d do willy-nilly and especially not without first finding someone with experience with those kind of things to help me.
520 chain first, then probably clutch. When you say caps, what do you mean? I’m not used to all the jargon in English yet 😅
