Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with my 2011 Hyosung GT650 EFI. The bike starts fine in neutral, but as soon as I put it in gear the fuel pump cuts out and it also disables the starter.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • The kickstand switch is bypassed (wires shorted).
  • The clutch switch was tested and works. To be sure, I also shorted those wires, but the problem persists.
  • I traced the clutch switch wire back to the ECU and confirmed continuity.

I suspect the kickstand switch circuit. Sometimes I have to unplug and re-plug the shorted wires to get the fuel pump running again, but I don’t know why.

It feels like the ECU is still seeing an open signal somewhere, but I can’t pin it down.

Has anyone run into this issue on the GT650 or similar EFI Hyosungs? Could it be a faulty connection in the kickstand circuit, or some other safety switch? Any advice or ideas are welcome.

Thanks in advance!
