Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue with my 2011 Hyosung GT650 EFI. The bike starts fine in neutral, but as soon as I put it in gear the fuel pump cuts out and it also disables the starter.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- The kickstand switch is bypassed (wires shorted).
- The clutch switch was tested and works. To be sure, I also shorted those wires, but the problem persists.
- I traced the clutch switch wire back to the ECU and confirmed continuity.
- I suspect the kickstand switch circuit. Sometimes I have to unplug and re-plug the shorted wires to get the fuel pump running again, but I don’t know why.
It feels like the ECU is still seeing an open signal somewhere, but I can’t pin it down, are there any other ‘safety’ switches, that kills the bike when in gear?
Has anyone run into this issue on the GT650 or similar EFI Hyosungs? Could it be a faulty connection in the kickstand circuit, or possibly a problem inside the ECU? Any advice or ideas are welcome.
Thanks in advance!

Tip-over-sensor?
Old and grumpy,(?), have fairly wide engine & tuning experience, "restoring/resto-mod" on cars & mc, worked as electronic tech. (retired).
GT125R - sold. New (used): 2012-GT250R-efi (sold)+ 2017-GV-125C (sold) - got my old 2018-GT-125R back... 🙂

The wires could be rotting further along the harness of the “stand switch” ?
And cobra is correct to mention the Tip-Over Sensor (Roll-Over sensor) , it can get funny sometimes , I would NOT bypass it but check on your country’s eBay page if you have to replace it but hopefully not.

Sorry for the confusion, I ended up posting this problem twice. The first thread (this) got flagged as spam because I edited it right after posting and it didn’t show up, so I reposted it. The issue has already been solved in the other thread, so this one can be ignored.
For anyone curious, the problem turned out to be the side stand wiring not making proper contact. Once I fixed that, everything worked fine. My apologies for the duplicate post!
