I appreciate the advice! I haven’t gone over the whole harness yet but did go and test individual components after giving it a clean. I definitely think the pin for the starter relay system on the ECU is being bypassed. It would explain why I get the ‘che’ message on the display regardless of what position its in since the ecu isn’t getting a signal when the kill switch is used without it.
In regards to the ignition system, resistance wise the ignition coils checked out okay but I’ll probably replace them anyway. Stator is out of spec at 0.8ohm instead of 0.2-0.4ohm. Similarly, the pickup coil is out of spec at 182ohm instead of 110-140ohm so I think both are toast. The pickup coil does send voltage out of the connector but it i couldn’t observe go higher then 009.7mv which as far as I’m aware isn’t enough voltage to do anything worth a damn. Rectifier checked out okay but its been sitting outdoors for God knows how long and has some corrosion on the outer casing so I’ll replace it too.
I’ll be going with cheap replacements for these components for now, its not ideal but budget wise it works and it’ll do to verify that impossible to find ECU isn’t completely cooked before flashing the cash on better replacements.
