Reply To: Gt650 rear shock problems?
I had another look at the bikes after you replied. I’ll start by correcting myself. It’s an 06 not an 08. I don’t know if that makes a difference but yeah. I also had my brother to bring his 2010 gt650s over. The half naked ones with the upright seating position. This photo is of his shock. Another loose wound coil…. I’m beginning to think mine has been swapped out at some stage.
The Y-Bones all look the same and I cant tell they are bent. The bit that bolts over massive cast alloy piece?
The kick stands are all the same length and where it bolts onto looks the same and I don’t see any obvious damage or bending. I still need to get a paddock stand and measure the angles tho.
I don’t see any damage to the swing arms or just anywhere really. They all look good.
Even the shock themselves look the same its just the spring that’s different
Is it worth buying a genuine new shock online? I can get a NOS one for about $230 AUD delivered.
