The chain has been shot, so it’s time to replace it.

Also, go to your REAR sprocket.  Imagine the sprocket as a time-watch,  so at the 3PM mark.

Pull the chain with your hand away from the bike.  If you see a GAP between the chain and sprocket.  – That’s also telling you the chain is done.

Do you know how old it is and what brand it is ? – Usually the whole set is changed.
