2006 gv650 purchased not running. CDI had been cut off. Cdi i got with it was not correct, it is hyosung but for a different bike. Mine is supposed to be a 7 wire cdi. What i have is a 12 wire. Can i make it work? Does anyone have a pinout for both cdis? I feel like i can overcome this, but need assistance. Ty in advance

@jtbrascal = Can you post a picture of your harness plugs and the CDI’s you have ?
Hyosung makes various CDI’s for carb bikes that’s for sure.

Take a look on eBay Italy, i think there is 2 sellers selling the “exact” CDI’s you are looking for , but make sure to ask them if they work first and also they must match your pictures.
GT650 might work also provided it is the same connector (since the GT’s have more variations than GV does)
However, your CDI DOES look correct because it is taken from the GT650 by Koreans , it may use less pins. The official part number is 32900HN9111
Why did they cut it ? Did it not work before ? they should have just left it intact, so i can’t tell you if it will blow up if you wired it now , just incase they mismatched the pins ?
not unless the old plug was fried up, and they got another CDI from some random seller with the plug included for the last owner to retrofit it back.
If my memory serves me well, on your harness (what your hand is grabbing)
- Blue and Green = those 2 wires => Stator Sensor/Pickup coil.
- WHITE with blue line => rear coil
- YELLOW with blue line => front coil
- Black with white line, tends to be the universal ground wire or battery negative feed (-)
- Solid Orange is either power (when key turns on) or coming from the kill switch block itself (as the EFI versions , the kill switch actually turns the ECU off)
- Yellow with Green Line ? = Possibly for the Starter Motor Solenoid ==> CDi telling it to crank once you press start
However, double check the service manuals in this forum to double confirm the wire colours i mentioned. Then put labels on them so you know which wire does what.

I want to tag this guy , hopefully he sees it! @@backchat
This is his topic below , on similar subject. I really hope he can post pictures of his plugs to see if they are all in the same pins to help you retrofit.
He did get there in the end , but he forgot to update the topic lol.
