ST7 Rear LED Light – can I stop it flashing !!??

Bike Model = : ST7
Hello all. Just joined the group after purchasing a 2010 ST7 about a month ago. It’s not pristine, but so far I’m really pleased with it 🙂
One question – it has a LED rear tail lamp unit which blinks constantly (slowly) when the ignition is on, and then rapidly when the brakes are applied. I’ve never seen a rear tail lamp that does this. At first I thought it must be an aftermarket unit, but it looks like it was fitted as standard. I was amazed when the MOT tester passed it, as I was sure it must be illegal here in the UK.
My question is this: can I stop the constant blinking? I don’t mind the flashing when the brakes are applied, but the light is quite bright, and I can imagine the constant on/off would begin to annoy anyone following me, especially in low light conditions. Yes it’s probably good for safety and visibility, but I think a steady light would be better (and would help prevent me being run off the road by irate motorists 🙂 )
Are these units adjustable, or am I stuck with the blinking? Any info would be useful. Thank you!
