Fitting Guide: R&G Racing Crash Protectors
Protecting your Hyosung GT125 or GT250 is a smart investment, especially for new riders or those using their bikes for daily commuting. R&G Racing is the industry standard for frame sliders and crash bars, designed to pull the impact away from your expensive fairings and engine casings during a low-side or stationary drop.
Installation Overview & Protection Benefits
The GT125R and GT250R (GTR) models require specific attention during installation due to the full-fairing coverage. Properly fitted crash bars provide a sacrificial point of contact, significantly reducing the risk of cracked plastics or punctured engine covers.
- Compatibility: Fits all GT125/250 Naked (Comet) and GTR (Faired) models.
- Key Hardware: High-tensile steel bolts and de-embrittled bobbins.
- Installation Tip: Always install one side at a time to ensure the engine remains supported within the frame.
- Torque Settings: Refer to the PDF guide for specific R&G recommended torque values to avoid stripping frame threads.
Note: For GTR owners, this guide explains if any minor fairing modifications are required for the “no-cut” or “cut” versions of the R&G kits.
Notice: This printable guide is a permanent mirror hosted by HyoRiders. Before starting your install, ensure you have a torque wrench and the correct socket sizes. If you have questions about fitting crash bars to the newer RC/P models, please post in the technical forums.
