Hyosung GT650 Comet-06
Hi there.
With empty tubes, front fork manual tells:
“Oil level 146mm (5.8 in) from end of outer tube
(when maximum compressed without spring)”
or/and 380 cc.
The recommended level is obtained with 380 + 60 cc at each leg.
Anyone who can explain ‘wass’up’?
The hight of inner thread, from top to ‘top of outer tube’ (oilfilled) is 25 mm. So measure top(top) 😋 to oil is 171 mm.Matsini

If the fork oil is drained from the tubes completely, i would go with the total amount to refill from the service manual. Unless somehow its leaking elsewhere (causing amounts to drop?)

I do understand you, Marcel.
‘Better with less, than too much’!
But as you also understand, there must be something misunderstood here?
Put it like this: One fork leg. Open up, dismantle, drain fully. Mantel it up with NO spring and max compressed, at the bottom, standing up.
Fill it up 380 cc. Jerk the ‘valve bone’ until it moves smooth. Let it ‘harmonize’ at five min. Then stick the meter into the tube and measure. And the meter will remain dry.
From ‘top’ (the threaded part, app 25 mm, of the forged alum outer part of the ‘leg’) down to the top of the “outer tube” HYOSUNG GT 650 Service Manual (Page 163 of 210) | ManualsLib so, 146 + 25 = 171 mm
I must pour 60 more cc oil until the level is obtained?“There must be some way out of here?
Said the joker to the thief”.
What do you think?Matsini

Hey,
In my experience without trying to follow Korea’s english. I try and keep it simple.
– Legs off. Drain oil. Inspect hardware.
– Change seals , if burst.
– Sort the hardware back together, add the total oil it requires, usually 10w as factory 5w is too thin.
– Fit legs back on the bike. Test ride gently, go through some speed bumps and see how it feels leaning around, increase speed, see if it judders or not. Then job done haha
