Just got a 2007 GV650, need advice

Hi guys.

its my first ever post on a forum so not sure how this works but i picked up my GV650 last week. shes got 1000km total and has had quite a few modifications.

Its a 2007 model and has been sitting around since 2012. it was mot’d when i purchased the bike last week.

i am doing my DAS for my full A license so i cant take her out yet but my friend has taken it to fuel up after insuring it for the day and says it rides lovely.

It is however, quite loud due to the exhausts and im worried about getting pulled over becuase of the db reading.

My friend also mentioned it backfired a few times, is this normal?

If it backfired a few times, he needs to elaborate a bit more ?  As it could either be ingition system or fake emissions stuff still on the motor
