Idles fine with choke off but as soon as any throttle is put on it does, carbs were ultrasonic cleaned last week, jets etc clear, fuel pump fine etc can’t find the issue apart from this, is this supposed to be touching? Should there be a gap?
Any advice and help gretfully accepted

The Gap is totally fine , this is a small pump that squirts a little gas inside the cylinder on acceleration , u can manually check this if it works smoothly , unless the rubber boot is become hard and holding it down,
However this would not be a cause for the acceleration issue that your facing , check pilot jet circuit again and also if both the slides are moving freely without restriction.

Thanks for the info, I’m new to the bike scene not really sure what I’m doing to be honest I’m more of a car guy lol
By the main jet circuit you mean the main jets and check if they are clear?

Yup check the main jet and the pilot jet again I will attach a picture of them from My comet 250 carb , and also try pushing the slides up with a finger and see if they slide back down freely without any restriction…
If everything is fine try starting the bike without the air box on.. may be the air filter is chocked .. so u could see if the slides are moving when u accelerate …

Cheers man really ppreciate the help. Will try taking it apart tomorrow and give another clean.
Bike was only in last week getting “fixed” with a bogging issue and they give it a full service and done fork seals etc and said they stripped the carb and ultrasonic cleaned it and cost me £400 so kinda wanna fix this issue myself don’t want to put much more money into it as I’m hoping to get a bigger bike in the next month or so

All the best , but before you take anything apart check some basic stuff … Like disconnect the fuel hose to the carb and check if there is fuel coming out when you crank the engine , also check the vacuum hose to the fuel cork …. Cheers 🍻 … And all the best for your new bike
