Hi again everyone,
Lost the speed nut for this section of the rear tail (photo below) would anyone happen to know the spec so I can order another one?
Also, can anyone confirm if this is normal behavior from the bike when the choke is put on? Bike seems to increase in rpm initially then decrease and find an idle. Unsure if the idle is too low when the choke is on. If I put the chock on too quickly then the bike will stall.
Bike was warm when recorded.
Also cheers Marcel you’ve been incredibly helpful in getting this bike working again. Much appreciated.

I can see that the bike idles at 1000 rpm (tries to) , this is GOOD! – It won’t need the choke!
Just start the bike normally with a few throttle pumps , then nurse the throttle until it settles within 10 seconds from cold .
It takes 10 minutes for the engine to rise its own revs to 1500 rpm. 10 minutes before riding is good as i would not ride it straight away (piston rings need hot oil first and for carbs to settle)
When the bike is hot, increase idle to 17500 rpm – This the sweetest idle spot for any carb hyosung. It should be hovering around 1700-1800 max all day long.
Beyond 1800 rpm is not advised as it will cook piston rings. 250cc EFI machines start at 1800 rpm and the ecu locks it there all day.
If the bike starts at 12-1300 rpm cold, then even better, the choke is just there for really bad weather conditions. I highly doubt it gets that cold in AU than UK!
As for your fairing = It is called “m5 Chimney Nut”

I just gave the bike a cold start with the choke on. It’ll idle high then settle but after 10-15 seconds the idle will slow then the engine will cut out as if it’s running out of fuel. Is there anything I should check on the carbs that could be causing this? It runs perfectly without the choke in all gears at WOT so I’m guessing something is messing with the choke/enrichening circuit?

Increase the throttle speed by adjusting the idle as soon as it starts to make it idle around 1500 rpm, then it should settle to 1800 rpm max when its hot. Try that first.

Gave that a go but still doesn’t like to hold the correct choke rpm. Is there anything else that could be causing the issue? Trouble is I have no idea how the choke system works to troubleshoot lol. Or is how it is running to be expected? I could have sworn the choke was working as expected before I started messing with the carbs.

You could cry , but i feel like its best to remove the carb one more time and thoroughly clean it , then
- Make sure the slides are not sticky
- Float height (it matters or else the pilot jets may not reach the fuel before its shut off hence poor idling)
- Keep the choke cable removed from the carb (just incase the choke is frayed or the choke rail is sticky)
This is exactly to a tee how our carb works because its a CV carb but it just faces upside down that’s all!
