hello yall,,, 
, just joined last night ( 9-13-24 ). hope everybody was safe from friday the 13 th. 4 years ago i bought a 2006 GV 650 Aquilla with 4800 miles on it. it was all orange all over , so i gave her a new paint job, matte black. took all apart and painted each pie3ce with care. sanded the gas tank from orange.down to the bare steel and sprayede a clear coat over the sanded tank. i have only put 1100 miles on it since i ve had it. Never took it out on the freeway yet. it sits under my carport with a cover over it half the year. i did change the exhaust to a way, throatyer sound , little short muffler and it sounds great. SORRY , not done, this type of messages in a while. newly retired, and single , no girl yet, i dont get out much, I try and exercise daily with something hard, i have a 125 cc honda grom ,,, yellow with 380 miles on it. 4 strokes are fun sound cool. other than that, i dont really do shit. need to. parden the layout and pic locations.of this text……. ok thats about it from me in WASHINTON STATE,, LONGVIEW, WA, 35,000 PEOPLE and 40 miles to PORTLAND, OREGON,in 2023 ,, august, i rode it to side job, EVERYDAY,,,, 2 months daily. THEN next day started fine and a minute later died . And wouldnt start . still hasent ran since last year. Only will start with cho95 DEGREES 2 DAYS AGO AND IT RAINED LAST NIGHT, ke on,, and then i ll kill battery or just lazy. just wont start and now a short somewhere around g-tank , Well ,ALL IN all i tore into it and didnt lable the fuel/vacuumm lines . And ,,so many people,,,, and you tube, say pilot jet is plugged. i mean almost everyone. did that . i ll just start a new post,,, i ramble on somestimes ,. but hey yall. im new later. nick hilgert. Don’t worry about the retirement, this is where i say “the fun begins” , where its all about you now 😉
Either the “famous” harleys or Hyosungs ? The GV650 is comfier with a “sporty engine” , so it is no slouch of a bike but does enough freeway miles using a big front sprocket to lower revs (if it has had a chain conversion done). So good choice on keeping the Hyosung all these years.

hi marcell, sorry i didnt respond asap, but i got that rsv flu shit and was pretty sick . but now im back and still going to work on my GV 650. so i followed your fuel /vac pictures from another member. those pics were just what i needed to put the lines to thier OEM spot. Now it only starts with the choke on all the way . give it any gas and she dies. now i took the carbs out two-3 mo ago and cleaned out the pilot jets only, they were plugged. and put back together again but still only starts with choke on . they most likely got plugged again. so im about to do the whole thing over again. do you think that it is the pilot jets still or should i do the total carb rebuild, im not very good at doing carbs at all. everybody says that when it only starts with the choke on that it is the pilots jets. are they all right. it ran great for months then one day in the middle of warm up it dies. and has not started since. if you could find time in your busy day to guide me a little . i have pictures too if needed. and one more thing the hose that comes from under the tank is just a drain flow to ground , so put a hose on it to drain to ground 12-16 inches or so???? thank you nick from WASHINGTON state .

i now have the tank off and going to remove the airbox and carbs again to clean the pilot jets again. i hope this does it . if not ill just get a rebuild kit and do it all , its only 20.00 dollars. for both carbs. but its above my pay scale . plus in kinda hurting for $$$ lately. so unless i have to .

I take it you have checked all the easy things (no water in fuel, new fuel, clean filter, float height, fuel flow rate etc)
How did you set the mixer screw when you cleaned the carb , if one jet is blocked then it would need a full strip and clean as the rest are likely to need cleaning , might not need the rebuild kit just a can of carb cleaner and a full strip down and retune 🤔 it’s cheap to do and might work before you get a rebuild kit 🤔
