Hiya all!
So reaching a dead end here. My gvs125 engine is running on, I’ll turn off the ignition and the engine will keep running! Kill switch ain’t turning off the engine, neither is the kick stand (can literally start it in 1st gear with the kickstand down). Only way to turn off the engine at the moment is via stalling.
I have done battery checks, cleaned most if not all of the connections bar the grounding wire as i dont know where that is, im lost to be honest. Can anyone help me please?!?!

If the bike keeps running when ignition is off , do you get
- any lights on dash?
- rpm gauge moving?
- can you use headlights and indicators?
I want to ask these so i can break down what it actually could be

No lights on dash/ indicator, all the electrics turn off bar the engine…

How about this ….
Start the bike again , and turn key off
Then quickly go to the starter motor and disconnect its wireLet us know if that helped?
Also quickly unhook the fuse box and ignition barrel so there is no power in the harness…

i have a feeling it’s time to get a new harness and ECU at this rate.
Otherwise , can you confirm please
– If the bike ignition plug is removed it still runs?
– if the starter motor is disconnect , it still runs?
– If you remove the HT caps ? what happens ?Sorry to ask these 3 , if you could give me 3 answers , it helps be sure what the actual cause is because it’s not a carb bike (easy to diagnose) but an EFi model, so we have more electronics to be careful with that’s all .

- Ignition plug not tried
- Starter motor removed it stills runs
- Ht caps, engine dies, know that already as it is impossible for the engine to run with them in
We think we may have diagnosed the issue. The loom between the killswitch/ starter and the first connection when moved causes fluxuation in rpms at idle so we think its a bad earth between the connection and killswitch, as the battery is also draining over night. It won’t be an ecu issue as everythin else is running fine its just that loom i reckon. Will update when i have more info
