GV250-EFI 2012- motor dies under load

Hello,

My gv250 idles strong. In neutral it can rev to red line. Up on stands it can cycle through each gear to high RPM. However with a rider it dies after 100ft or so. It dies in both 1st and 2nd gear. After it dies it will turn over but wont start up for 10-15 minutes.

It’s got to be low fuel supply to the injectors, it be the filter that is fixed onto the pump or it could be a tired pump

I will pull the filter bag thing off to see if that fixes it. If not I have an 07 gv250 with an almost identical pump and I’ll swap them out.

Do you know any way to test the fuel pressure without a gauge? I’m in the middle of no where Cambodia and there’s not a mechanic shop that can service “big” motorcycles anywhere

For fuel-pressure, you can use a tire-pressure-gauge…

+a hose connected directly to fuel-pump-outlet…

 

Old and grumpy,(?), have fairly wide engine & tuning experience, "restoring/resto-mod" on cars & mc, worked as electronic tech. (retired).

GT125R - sold. New (used): 2012-GT250R-efi (sold)+ 2017-GV-125C (sold) - got my old 2018-GT-125R back... 🙂
