Yesterday i faced the problem that my bike wouldn’t start. Everything seemed normal, but when i pressed the start button nothing happened.
So after a bit of research i found out that there are 2 safety features that could cause this problem.
The first being the side stand switch. So i removed the switch, which has 3 wires, followed them to the ECU where i found a connector. 3 wires coming from the side stand (2x green and 1x white). The other side of the connector has only 2 wires, turns out the white one is not used. So i shorted the green wires going to the ecu, but the bike still wouldn’t start.
Time to check out the clutch lever switch. It is easy to disconnect this switch and with a piece of wire i bypassed the switch by shorting the wires. My bike started :-). After the bike was started the wire was not needed to keep it running, so i drove to work (with the bypass wire in my pocket ;-).
The other day i removed the switch and it turns out it is very easy to open it. I removed some rust, cleaned the contacts and putted a bit of grease on the plastic guide. It is as good as new now :-).
