Hi all. First time poster here, and fairly new Aquila owner – from what I’ve seen though there are some really helpful folk here, so looking for some advice.
I recently got my GV125S as something to ride after my CBT so I could get some practice for six months to a year or so before going for my full A license. I know that at some point I’ll want to be able to do simple things like pick up some milk from the shop as an excuse to ride, and I’d also like somewhere to store waterproofs, my disc lock, and other things, and I remember from the bike I had back in college that I’d prefer not to have to have a backpack on all the time while I’m riding, so I went looking to see if there was a pannier kit available for the bike.
I came across the Shad 3P system which has a fitting kit specific to this bike, but not to my bike’s specific year. They’ve got GV125 Aquila (18-23) and another for the GV125S Aquila (22-23), though looking again at them both now, they both have the same product code. I tried to search online to see what differences might exist between the 23 and 24 models of the Aquila, and couldn’t find much, aside from I think the addition of CBS, and that parts wise there haven’t been many changes.
So, I ordered the 22-23 kit and it arrived today. (The instructions for this kit still give 18-23 at the top, so they’re the same kit). Just went to hold it up next to my bike and plan out fitting it when I noticed the problem; the instructions want me to remove a bolt holding the passenger foot peg on to use as the third mounting point for the system, but on my bike, there is no bolt. There’s a flat-ended pin that forms the central part of the pivoting mechanism for the peg, but no bolt to remove, and I’m not sure that the hole on the pannier frame lines up with where that pin would come out of anyway.
Has anyone else had any experience with fitting this pannier kit to one of these bikes? Is there some trick to the instructions that I’m just not getting, or did Hyosung change the passenger peg design in 2024 and make the bike incompatible with this kit? If so, is there any way I can work around it? Swap out the passenger pegs for a pair from the 23 model, or try to find someone to custom-fabricate a part I can use to marry the two up? I’m assuming that just cable tying the pannier mount around the passenger peg is a Bad Idea no matter how securely I try to fasten it in place.
Will I just need to return this kit and find some other luggage solution for my bike?
Thanks in advance for any advice people can offer.

Is it possible to take a picture of the manual and upload it here ? And also show us your footpeg area to see what they mean by that.
In the past , i basically used universal pannier kits (was cheaper) but were hard shells which I needed and also got a universal rack kit that mounts to the sides of the grab rails along the rear pillion area. I just had to get creative and swear a lot to make things fit! This was on a bigger older GV (carb ) , personally I have not fitted one to a GV125-S, however Hyosung did not change any structural parts for the footrests since 2018-2025
The major change in 2024/2025 is their new model called GV-125X (X) , totally looks different. S-models will remain S-models without much change visually to be fair
The worst is that you could end up getting a metal plate fabricated to get around fitting the boxes or return it but i would also email or contact Shad themselves.
They are an OK company (quality wise), personally I use their Click-Lock tank bag systems, but as for customer support I can’t comment as i never had to bother them about any issues i had personally with their products.
Keep us posted!

So it turns out that the fitting kit I got does fit my bike – I’ve just spent some time with it this morning and managed to get it fitted.
These are the instructions for the frame kit: https://www.picbox.uk/media/shad/documents/H0GV18IF.pdf
It was step 3 that I was getting confused at – it looks as though there’s a bolt and nut it wants you to remove (parts E and D), but all I could see there was the pin that goes through the pillion peg pivot point, with the retaining E ring to hold it in place. I went and looked at the Sinnis website to compare the pillion footpeg parts list for the 2018-2020 model and the 2021-onwards model, and they’re identical, so I figured that the Shad instructions must be referring to those two parts. Removing them and using all of the washers and spacers from the Shad kit did make everything line up and the frame is now securely fitted to my bike. The pillion foot pegs also still pivot nicely, so even though I’ve replaced a smooth pin with a threaded bolt, that doesn’t seem to have affected the functionality there at all (though it would have made more sense to me to have that bolt be only partially threaded, like the instructions show – but the actual bolt I had was fully threaded). I’m only riding on a CBT, so the pillion footpegs themselves don’t matter to me much, but that may not be true for the next owner when I get my A license and upgrade.
Thanks for the info and advice anyway
