Hi everyone, I recently bought a 2013 Hyosung GT650R and I’ve been trying to diagnose what the issue is. This morning I tried starting my motorbike and all went well but as soon as I stopped at the first intersection, the bike just shut itself off. No lights on dash, no power from the engine. The battery also doesn’t charge when I go for rides so I have to manually charge the battery. Any help or tips would help.
- Cheers.

Your regulator and most likely the stator has gone it is fuel injection I assume? It will run until the battery level drops then it’s no go.

Hey Simon, Yes it is EFI. I’ll try to check the stator and the regulator with my multimeter tonight and will try to update. Cheers.

Hey Simon, I’ve just checked the regulator and I can confirm that It’s been fried up internally (burnt smell). I have ordered a new regulator and stator. Thanks for that! But is there any way to test out if my Hyosung’s dash or any electronics have been taken out without the regulator? Cheers

Recharge battery will light up the dash just don’t start it, it could damage things but most likely will have blown a fuse

hey simon, just recently bought a main relay for the bike but still waiting on the stator and regulator. I tried turning ignition on with the new main relay and a fully charged battery but disconnected the stator and regulator. Still no display. Is there anymore underlying problems or parts I should look at? Cheers

hey simon, just checked my fuses. both my main fuse are showing continuity but one of my headlamp fuses have no continuity. Should I be worried about my ECU being toast?

Even if the ECU is stuffed lights should come on

Hi, just stumbled on this thread this morning. I own a 2013 GT250 EFI which had developed a dash display issue similar to yours. In my case the problem was a badly corroded connector which feeds power to the dash display. It was, annoyingly, a cheap white connector which has no protection against the elements. The contacts themselves were bare copper which ended up green.
On my bike this connector is situated on the side of the steering column. It was hard to get to but with a lot of patience can be replaced with a better connector. Sorry I don’t have pictures since occurred some years ago.
This of course is not related to your other issue with the charging system.
