So my 09 gt250r the front sproccet nut and washer keeps falling off. any specific reason? i noticed that some other pictures ive seen the washer is bent over the nut. but what could cause the nut to keep falling off and leaving me stranded and wasting money😂?

Have you got a picture as it would help

the washer is bent up to help stop the nut from spinning

How are you putting the nut on and tightening it up hand or impact gun

Is there any place for a split pin or  you might be able to wire lock it in place

Had to do it for race prep on my old bike

Did you use a torque wrench? If you need to stop it moving easiest way put the chain on, put it in gear (engine switched off 😅) get a mate to press rear brake or hang something from the lever 🤔

Yes tap one side of the washer onto a flat face of the nut

What did you use to tighten it up with last time ?

If you can’t find a socket you can use a monkey wrench but it could damage the nut

Sprocket Nut socket size is 27mm , and i agree that you need the rear brake pressed down hard with chain fitted to bike.   Keep in neutral as not to damage gearbox

Torque for is 60-80nm for nut.

Use “PERMANENT/SEMI-PERMANENT” loctite on the thread , that can handle high heat , make sure the shaft thread is clean!

Also make sure shaft does not have damaged thread, because if a nut flies off, the sprocket will grind on the shaft thread , which could be an timely job to split engine and replace shaft again.

Folding washer to nut = I fold twice , and I make sure the washer lips are hugging the nut tight and flat… I do this for every customer bike.
