GT250 tachometer not working

2012 GT250 that sat for 2 years and has 3200 miles on it. I’ve got it running although a little sluggish in first gear but, the tach isn’t working. Any places to look or do I just need to replace the dash?

Can you tell us what part of the speedo isn’t working ?
– Rev counter?
– MPH (speed counting) LCD glass
– The Icons at the top  (ie.  Turn Signals, FI , Neutral, High Beam)

It’s most likely going to be a connection check & clean the connectors from behind the dash & also the connectors on the front coil as that’s where the signal comes from

Usually Tachometer can sometimes be refered as the entire dashboard unit (whole thing is dead)

Yes, it all works except the tachometer.

Open the Dashboard unit, see if you can “gently” move the needle up and see if it goes down by itself , otherwise  look for any burn marks or water marks that may have affected its circuitry

If you’re brave enough, you could replace the stepper motor (the little motor that sweeps the RPM Needle up & down)

Update us with what you do first before we go the route of replacing the stepper motor, you may end needing soldering skills too.

Needle moves freely, no return. No obvious burns. I have a soldering iron and can solder.
