I picked up a used 2017 GD250R. It did not have the original battery. I need to replace it. Can anyone tell me what the correct OEM battery size is? The aftermarket dead battery in the bike is a YTX12-BS. It fits but the fuse box needs to be moved out of the way to slide the battery in and out. It seems like an oversized battery for this bike. YTX9-BS is the same length and width with a lower height. It makes more sense that this would be the correct battery. Either way, I would like to know for sure before purchasing a replacement. Thanks for the help.
FYI: The owner’s manual and the parts fiche do not show the generic battery size/type, only the Hyosung part number which does not help identifying an aftermarket part number or the proper physical dimensions.

YTX 9BS is OK. Just make sure it’s a genuine YUASA brand. No lithiums either.

Thank you, I know a YTX9-BS will work. I’m more interested to know what the exact OEM replacement is. I just got a hold of a service manual and that does not even specify the battery type. It does indicate “12V 10A” so that would point to a YTX12-BS.

12BS “just about” narrowly fit the GV250 battery tray. GV250 battery tray is the same size as the GD-250. However , 9BS is more than sufficient. Infact, get the YUASA High Performance 9BS battery, other I have used the 9BS on the other Hyosungs without an issue.
I do know that 14BS is factory size for GT- bikes but they have more going on under the hood than the GD does .
