Hello,
Yes 650 forks fit 650 bikes no problem
However, if you have silver forks, use 650 silver forks because they use the grey TCTC Calipers.
If you have black 2018 forks, then use black 2018 forks , due to the fact Hyosung upgraded the calipers to bigger black ones
Out of couriosity , what has happened to the GV650 forks ?

So an metal C-Ring has popped out of the bar basically and it won’t sit back in its groove ?
You mean an actual “rubber” o-ring ?
Sorry i’ve just noticed this now.

Yer,l meant the metal c ring, how do l get that back in, forks are ready for new seals but because the collar keeps slipping back can’t get them seated

Get a big big mole grip and get the ring positioned, then use the vice grip to squeeze force the ring to get in the slot.

I mean if the C-Ring sits in a groove by its own, and its a hard metal to press on , probably a good thing it does that since the 650 has a fair amount of weight sprung to its suspension.
You want a mole grip or some kind of vice to force the C-ring in to the slot.I am making an educated guess i have no idea how the rest of the fork rebuild went for you, so i am assuming it’s just that bit.

Well l now have the seals in and the retaining clip, lm assuming it’s all good and that collar is just a cover for the seals, l will soon find out when the forks go back on tomorrow night

I’ve run into another problem with the right fork, the rebound damper adjuster ain’t working, it just rotates all the way round but the left side works ok
Can they be repaired or is it a new right fork ???

Sounds like you have to split the fork again to see what’s hopefully not broken inside though , otherwise if all fails , it should be OK to get another fork leg that looks “identical” to yours. Ignore 125cc and 250cc forks because they have different internals, the 650 is much heavier , and has adjustable tops.

Managed to split fork again, there is connecting rod that comes from the adjuster, it had slipped out, back in again and now able to get the hard and soft settings again but noticed difference in height if fork oil between left and right fork even though put same amount of oil in each fork, the left fork oil hileight seemed higher than the right 🥴

@marcel, ive just fitted some gt650 black forks to my gv650, I have the siler/grey calipers but can’t get them to bleed up…is this something yo do with the forks being different and therefore the pistons in the caliper aren’t reaching the disc, strange question I know lol, you mention sticking with TCTC calipers with grey forks and black with black.
Cheers J

Are you able to post a picture of the forks (black ones) please so we see the botton legs so i know if they are truly meant for black calipers or not
I do know GT250R uses black forks and still uses TCTC grey calipers but 650’s need to be specific, as that’s the only CC class where hyosung changed the front calipers
