I have this GT250R from 2008.. But i was under the impression that the EFI first came in 2010 !!
But mine, registrated on Aug. 2008 has EFI and oilcooler, but still the old style taillight ?!?
Is there an reason for this, or is it just me who misunderstood something ??? -

It is normal because 2008 was the begining of the EFi switch for 650cc and 250cc , they started with GV Aquilas then changed GT bikes to EFi
But new carb models were still being sold until 2010-2012 (iirc) , because we sent some parts to a customer in NZ who had a carb model 2010 GT250 Naked
The 125cc is the only one that did not get EFi release until 2019I hope this make sense
You will also have what we call “1st Generation EFi” modelΒ (Daewoo / Sentec Electronics) in older bodyshape aka (Mk1)

Thanks for the explanation, it makes better sense then π
And yes, its a Sentec MCU, and i read what you said about them being rare, so if worst case happens, np problem, im already into Megasquirt (microsquirt)

Marcel.. Do you have any broken Sentec MCUs floating around, that you just want to toss out ??!
Im an electronics dude, and would like to crack one open, and see if i can do some reverse engineering to maybe replace it with a Microsquirt injection π

Marcel, sorry to waste your time again.
But.. does the GT650R from 2008, have the same ECU as the 250 ??, Course i might have found a wrecked one here in denmark π -

Not at all, it’s okay , it’s what the forum is for π Ask away.
650cc uses different mapping and has more electronics than a 250R does and it’s harness is a whole different beast lol. So the ECU will refuse to run on the 250cc,Β if it tries to run a 250cc motor, it will be very rough and might just kill something electric.Β Β I know “some sensors” work on both 650 and 250 but other parts are 650 specific and even the 650 bikes have different ECUs over the years.
